Anyone Want to Talk Traditional Fixed Blades?

Kris, thanks for sharing your John White knife, you know how I feel about John's work and who he was. I am proud for you to own that knife, you deserve it.

Primble, your sure posting some beauties. I am particularly fond of the Steingass, drop point.

Thank you!!! They are both Schrade 165's, the top one made for Sears and the bottom one is a Schrade Walden 165UH from 69/70.

Here is a couple of vintage custom fixed blades (Ruana & Morseth).

After holding one in my hand, I'd have to +1 this.

I handled a 165 at an antique store yesterday: a little too worn, a little too expensive.
I like the handles on these old Kabars. Marine Hunter (1207?) and something extinct, with a model no. I can't read.
Sorry about the picture quality; it clouded up suddenly.

Thanks, SAK. I probably over spent on the hunter, but under spent on the skinner, I'll call it, so it evens out. I made a sheath that isn't pretty for the skinner, but it holds the knife. I also had to straighten the tang and replace a couple of leather washers with a couple of bits of an old belt.
The hunter makes me think maybe I don't need a Buck 124, and the skinner, for whatever reason, is my hard-wired idea of what a hunting knife is.
Though I still need the Schrade 165. I might even get a Chinese one to tide me over.

One I am working on. 1095 & stippled Walnut. A bit traditional.

Thank you Primble. I appreciate that buddy.
