Anyone watching FORGED IN FIRE: KNIFE OR DEATH?

Lorien, He said he was turning 50. How do you get age and wisdom out of that? He's still a baby.....as are you. Check back in about 30 years!

Happy birthday, Joey!:)

Paul
Joe is old compared to me:D

am going east, but to Montreal not Hotlanta

I don't know. I cant decide if the show will help or hurt the knife community . A cpl of the "contestants" came across as a bit odd with kinda crazy looks on their faces as they stood on the course ending platform and growled/yelled like maniacs while holding their knives clutched in fists.

wish they would get more technical and try to show the more serious side of competitive cutting .

I always feel like I'm watching Steve Austin's Broken Skull Challenge, with the naming of each event like they have, and of course the running commentary.

Yah, I think Joe would do awesome there!!

And Joe, just remember 50 is the new 49 ...wait, that doesn't help that much ;)

from what i have read, a katana was designed for meat and living bone. you are only supposed to cut with the first 1/3 of a katana. chopping something hard in the middle of the blade will make the blade bend over the fulcrum point unless it is at an exact 90 degree angle. if it was at a perfect 90 degrees it would have tried to bend the sori straight and not bent sideways. i do not consider the results of using a tool for something it was not designed to do a bad reflection on that tool. i think the show is fun to watch :)

Ok. well the this week was a little better. a little talk about the custom blades was nice. and some more "serious" contestants. Have to say bringing the Dojo warriors in with the wall hanger Samurai swords is a bit embarrassing and uncomfortable to watch as you can see the disappointment in these peoples faces as they realize all the money/time they have wasted and all the BS they have absorbed from a bunch of middle aged beer belly instructors is just that BS.

I hope the show improves and maybe get rid of the WWF guy who really doesn't know what the hell he is talking about and replace with someone from the real world like on FIF

Bill Goldberg

Guess they want colorful announcers rather than stuffy technical guys

Didn't see the end of yesterdays show, but chopper vs. Scottish sword thing

One guys cheap tourist knife didn't make the cut.

Just wondering if the fish needs to be marked for cutting area? Scottish blade was a bit high and through a smaller area towards the tail

Although not a lot of technical detail on the making of. At least Travis Wuertz asks the type of steel used in the making
