Anyone watching FORGED IN FIRE: KNIFE OR DEATH?

I also feel bad for the katana wielding contestants. Saw both episodes with them. Hard targets and katanas dont mix.
I missed the end half of this weeks episode (wayy too tired from being up super early).
I was just impressed with the guy that used the Egyptian blade. I dont remember what it was called but it worked great!

The guy from Roosterfish fabrication did awesome as expected. CPM REX T15 not a steel you see much!

If i were to compete i would use a kukri in 3V or my Camp Kaiju model in the same steel. Or just go insane and use Ztuff or 1V for toughness.
Heres 2 examples of what i would use. (Currently in progress)
Top: Kiratis kukri prototype 8670
Bottom: Apex Kaiju Z-Tuff PM (0.350" thick convex)20180503_065700.jpg

I would go with the Kukri style SSL

was impressed with how well they do . Straight choppers are great on rope and stuff but quickly get overwhelmed on boxes and plastic buckets

that course is pretty brutal and the wood box and pails really kill the edges on those blades.

Here's a few proven knives in the arsenal which I'd have a hard time choosing from if I were to compete;

If I where to participate, I would take my modern small katana, from Giedymin, and this one I’m 100% sure it won’t bend or break, or I would ask him to make his woodsman cleaver, or the bone crusher. Easy money with one of those three!!!

Happy belated bday Joe.

I for one love the show. It's pure popcorn silliness but it involves knives so it's even better.

It's funny watching the internet knives fail and impressive watching the proper tools work as intended.

I would like to see them combine this with Forged in Fire. Make the knife, then run a course designed for the knife. The test on FiF has become a little perfunctory.

Thx buddy

Was enjoying it, then missed last night's final because I was tired. I enjoyed seeing Big Chris the first part go through.

Thanks Hugo:) Though all these knives are bit on a heavy side. Might be a little slow. Though it depends on the arm which wields it

Yah, the key with that fish is to strike at the spine first, otherwise it just knocks it out of the way.

An interesting show and last night was pretty good, that first run through the ropes, wow, that was a sharp knife!

With everyone getting fatigued by the time they get to the chicken I was surprised they don't left-hand the rope and ice block challenges to give their right arm a rest.
