Well I got an early Christmas present today. I'm now an uncle to a niece, I got my nephew mean as heck, lets see if I can't go 2 for 2 :D.

Congrats! I'm sure you can go 2 for 2 but be carful, a girl "mean as heck" is waaaay different than a boy "mena as heck". ;)

Haha, my nephew is already tormenting my bro and he's not even a year old yet. Every time my bro and I have some free time to play some xbox over XBL I always hear him getting mad because his kid is messing with his mic/controller lol. Can't wait til he gets older so I can really turn him into a monster, ah sibling rivalry never goes away. :D

i've got three nieces. she'll have you wrapped around her little finger before she's potty trained. congrats!

My brother has four kids, 19, 14, 6 and 4. Man, I tortured that 19 and 14 yo. like you just can't imagine.

Pranks involving masks, firecrackers, scary noise recordings..... It was like that show "scare tactics" every weekend at my house screwing with those poor kids. I was like the devil.

Then I had my own and I spared his two younger kids because I had my own to traumatize.

Why are these knives soooo' expensive?
If rat knife prices get any higher will it still make sense?

potentially dumb question: (especially if it's been answered before)
the RC5 has a bow drill divot -- and I've seen Tony's picture of how much that scorches the micarta.
How would the G10 scales on an RC3 deal with that kind of friction heat?
would they melt? scorch? ignite?
any idea where I could find a scrap of g10 to try it before taking a chance on damaging an RC3 as it seems like a pretty simple mod?

small batch production, higher levels of QC at all levels of manufacture, and a frightfully good warranty?

also - how do you figure "sooooooo' expensive"?
a Ka-bar fighting knife costs $60 or more with a plain leather sheath and it'll cost more to get an upgrade that's comparable with the stock ones from RAT.
A Fallkniven A1 costs a lot more than an RC6.

what's your price point? what do you think would be reasonable?

The easiest thing to do it not buy them, then they're not too expensive :D

I don't believe you could create enough friction to catch the G10 on fire or melt it, you may turn it a little brown though. Also the pivot should be as frictionless as you can get it to make it easier for you, if your experiencing a lot of friction add some waxes or lubricants.

Yeah, it's a blessing to still have a knife company that provides truly quality options that are still SOOOO affordable compared to many.

I think all of our knives are too damn expensive for what I use a knife for. Hell, anything over 7 bucks is too high 'cause I can buy an orange handle 18" Tarmontina in Peru for that much and it is BY FAR a better survival knife than a RAT, Busse, Sog, Cold Steel, Randall, KaBar, Becker or anything else you can think of.
