Just got back from a 4 day weekend at my favorite place on earth! Did some kneeboarding, shooting, kayaking, biking and swimming.

Only crappy thing was the entire length of the lake was covered in a thick layer of smoke. There is a major forest fire a couple valleys away and the winds have settled the smoke in our area. The sun was bright red for 3 days and the moon was orangey... Makes me sad thinking about all the destruction, but also the power of nature and how it uses these percieved "disasters" in it's natural life cycle.

Made some snares for practice aswell, since batoning firewood was pointless with the total fireban xD
 
There is a really cool show on Modern Marvels now on the History Channel. It's about "worlds sharpest" and they're talking about katanas and then showed
how Cutco makes their kitchen knives.

Chatting as it is used in this context would be anything outside of the given activity of the thread. Sometimes there are "No Chatting" picture threads, to keep the pictures available in the thread, and to keep the thread to the point. But since you got an infraction I am guessing it was a "for sale" thread, as you would usually have to try pretty hard to get an infraction for chatting in a "post your knife pictures thread".

So the rules are the rules, accept them or don't. Did you notice there are about 161,398 registered members here, generally a few thousand of them are all active at any given time, and they seem to be able to handle there mistakes well, and manage to mind the rules of the forum as well.

I got a infraction from saying "nice knives" in a for sale thread. Is an infraction really nessasry? Couldn't Esav Benyamin just politely edited or delete my posting?
Or what about "Hey, just as a reminder, you're not allowed to post in a for sale thread if you're not going to buy."

Just common courtesy. I would not 'reprimand' somebody over that. I would just edit or delete their posting.

Sure makes me want to pay money to surf a web forum were you get in trouble over complimenting somebody's knives with "nice knive"

btw, is saying "nice knife" chatting? I would think "chatting" would be much more than a 2 word compliement.

Ekdrm...Infraction or not, it didn't kill you. Be happy you didn't get banned, and be grateful you can still post.

Ekd, when it comes to moderators, there usually isn't a fairer one, a wiser one, or one who can come up with random poetry like Esav. Chances are if you got a problem with him, your overlooking something. :D Now Mrs. Shotgunner on the other hand............
