Apocalypse knife?

While we want to justify all kinds of cool, expensive, rare, and menacing knives, in all seriousness a simple machete is going to be what does damn near everything you need, plus its lighter than most, and is so cheap they can be damn near throw away.

I HI kukri would be my alternative, and we'd all like to take multiples, but realistically if it has to be one - take a machete.

I agree with snow and steel above. HI Khukuri would be my choice. An 18" Ganga Ram Special to be specific. The sheath it wears holds a small fixed blade for light tasks, as well as sharpening hone.

Society collapses. Gasoline & gunpowder no longer made. What blades would & could you carry?
1.Irrigation shovel .

Probably something like a extra large espada. People are going to be looting and intimidating and the twack of that lock is a good deterent for me haha

Fehrman Shadow Scout.

Good weight(9oz w/o sheath) to blade(6") length ration. Great steel. Great do-all utility design.

2nd knife would be the 4.6" Busse Badger Attack 3.

3rd would be a small multi knife like a Swiss Spartan or Officers.

And my ti spoon.

My 4 favs for this duty.. (they look dirty, but thats oil on the blades).

Fehrman Scout, Fallkniven A1(runner up to the Fehrman), Dozier Pro guide(runner up to the Busse), Busse BA3

Oh, and these..:D

-Multi tool
-Cold Steel S.F. shovel
-Two tins of sardines, one ketchup, other mustard.

All I'd need is my Bear Grylls survival knife.

Sorted.

Right?

ummm

is that the survival pro , or elite pro , or super elite uber pro or regular version

one would need to survive in the appropriate manner no ?

My apocalypse knife arrives on monday... the Walking Dead fans will know it as Daryl Dixon's knife, the Team Gemini Light Brigade.

This is the sheath it'll live in. Small wharncliffe piggybacked on the side for detail work, first aid kit mounted on the bottom, and I'm planning on adding a bic lighter in a kydex loop just above the FAK, and a smaller leatherman on the opposite side as the wharny.
