I take umbrage to this because I work very hard to remain as unbiased as possible when doing my job. I know the other mods do as well.

I am not stating that fact for all Mods just a few, just admit it that a mod is more likely to give an infraction to a guy who they are not friends with.

Perhaps you need a course in English composition, because the plain sense of what you wrote doesn't say some mods. It doesn't say their friends get off -- for whatever reason they might be friends. It refers to sycophants. That's insulting the mods AND the members.

A mod is more likely to give an infraction to someone who has deliberately committed a violation of the rules. A mod is less likely to give an infraction to a new member who might not know, or might have misunderstood a rule -- not because he's a friend, someone we don't even know yet.

You have to look at the history that the two have on the forum. Sometimes people get infractions because they have a bad track record. It's not always just about what is going on in the current thread.

I do know better but I was provoked and got mad. Moreover those prior warnings and infractions had expired. I did my time, it is not fair to hold that against me especially given the circumstances.



One of you guys just gave 40 points to someone expressing an opinion - he wasn't sassing anyone. He stated what he has observed - perhaps he hasn't seen everything - how is that 40 points?


This is not correct Spark. People should have a right to believe and speak as they please. If that means I or some others find value in an Mtech we should not be assaulted and provoked on the forums. This shouldn't be a place where if you don't think the right way, you're not permitted to voice your views.

If someone feels the mods aren't fair - he should be able to do so without a 40 point infraction. This just stregnthens his argument.


I was insulted in public and in writing, I was mad and provoked - I responded innapropriately.


Please consider modifying my infraction to something less than 40 neverending points.

I have actually been here since 1998 but a failure of my hard drive combined with the inability of my being able to access the original email address, and there may have been other circumstances as well, caused me to have to reregister.

It's not against the "rules" to say what you said. Everybody's entitled to their opinion. However, your opinion diametrically opposes those of upstanding knifemakers and the knifelovers who support them. And then you acted affronted and indignant when you were called out for your opinion. I take issue with your opinion because it's morally and ethically contrary to mine. Knifemakers like Sal Glesser and Todd Begg, who both participated in that thread and have been personally ripped off by MTech take issue with your opinion for obvious reasons. People that share your opinion, or are ignorant of MTech's lack of morals, are detrimental to the industry as a whole.

You don't go to Sturgis wearing a "HARLEYS SUCK!" T-shirt, then get all whiny about it when you get your ass kicked by 500,000 bikers. No more than you should go to a knife community and say "MTECHS RULE!" and not expect flack from anybody with a clue.

My other problem with your comments in that thread is the way you completely skirted the issue of MTech's lack of morals and ethics.
