It is odd that you project lack of restraint onto someone else.

Why would you respond aggressively? What would you lose if you just let it slide? What do you gain by being "aggressive"? Is there really any great threat to you if someone you don't know insults you on an internet discussion forum ?

Do other member here know you personally? Would your reputation be sullied somehow? Would you lose your job? Would you find yourself without friends or family?

C'mon, this is just about some kind of twisted pride at this point, and my prediction is that you'll be gone by end of week, if not by end of today.

If you use certain words, threaten others, call names outside of W&C you will be called out.

Regardless of what others do you are responsible for what you type. The other guy is not in control of your keyboard.

This is not the fifth grade and little Johnnie isn't calling you a poo-poo head at recess in front of little Susie. We are adults and as such should be above using certain words and leveling juvenile insults.

This is the internet. If you are arguing with someone over the internet you are an idiot.

If you are discussing knives then this is the place to be. If you are looking for a fight then you are going to eventually get banned.
 
averageguy, I'm right here in Asheville if you want to get together for a beer and talk in person. I'm a pretty nice guy actually.

You should consider some mental health help though. Anger management is the key word you should use.
 
averageguy, you might want to take brian up on is offer. if you like knives and this forum then you have nothing to loose but a lot of friends to gain. think about it;):D
 
Averageguy, I highly suggest you let this die, and move on.

You aren't going to win this one, no matter what.

I also suggest you take Brian up on his offer to meet over beers, and develop a friendship. As knife knuts, you have some things in common, and you may be able to resolve things in a more amicable manner in person.

Swearing in an open forum is a losing battle, no matter how you slice it. Some of the mods just won't tolerate it, and will issue infractions. You have experienced this first hand.

Now, in the future, I suggest you PM or email the mod or mods that you have a concern with, and not hash things out in the open. IMHO, if you had done the PM thing, you wouldn't have racked up the infractions like points in a game.

For all of you in this thread that have to give your two cents; it is time to go play someplace else.

Now you guys are using psychological tactics on me.

Obviously it's best I stay away for awhile I absolutely do not want to stop posting here. Mostly I like the community and political areas.

Well, off to buy an Mtech. Kidding. Like you guys I have a problem with a knife marked China, partly because of the ethics of companies like Mtech. And, partly because when you've spent so long avoiding the absolute cheapest crap it's hard to accept that product, even if more modern manufacturing techniques create a serviceable knife.

At this point the points have been made.
After discussion with some of the mods. It seems to be time to lock this.
If anyone has something to add without piling on, P.M. one of us and we can open the thread again.
