April 2020 Buck of the Month - Released

You can pretty easily confirm it yourself. Here's the link to create a custom Buck 112.

All of the options for the 2018 Buck of the Month are there. Satin S30V steel, nickel-silver bolsters, and Crelicam ebony scales... But maybe there is something I'm missing?

Comes out to $101.50 from the custom shop. I think I paid $112 for the BotM.

Don't get me wrong... I'm not all fired up about this or anything. I was just a bit bummed to find it out.
Did they add the drop point option in the custom shop after the BOM?

Edit.
Sorry. No drop point option in custom shop.
I thought that BOM was a drop point.
That would be cool tho.

Nah, the BotM was just a standard clip point. A drop point would have been pretty cool. :)

Thank you for the additional information. I personally do not own either of the knives mentioned. But, if I purchased the "exclusive" BOTM and later found Buck to be selling the same exact knife - at a lower price - I personally Would be fired up ! : ). I would return the BOTM and buy the cheaper knife (even if the savings is only for a few dollars).

Warning - Rant ahead: And I do think Buck should take greater care to make sure this doesn't happen. Are the BOTM knives exclusive and limited to what it says on the COA ? Or is the COA only good until Buck decides to produced that exact same knife in the custom shop ? The custom shop is Not exclusive - you can buy 50 of the same knife if you have the cash and the patience.

I guess I take a COA a little more serious than some.

Does the coa say exclusive?

I believe, but I am not sure, all of the COA's for the BOTM say "exclusive program". I've read this as meaning the BOTM knives can only be purchased through the BOTM offerings. And once sold out (however long that takes) - can not be purchased at a later date (as the Exact same knife). Seems I am wrong, unfortunately.

About two weeks before they added Crelicam Ebony to the custom shop. I was told on the phone it was coming, but that it was going to be the blond Ebony, sorted out from the production line. It doesn't say anything about blond ebony in the custom shop knife builder, but the scales in the picture have a lot of streaks in them. So my understanding is, the regular production line knives get black ebony. The Dec 2018 BOM got black ebony. Custom shop knives get blond ebony. Does it matter? I guess that depends on the individual.

O.B.

personally I dont care if Buck keeps making more of a good knife. I'm not a fan of limited editions and such. I know others care and that's fine, but I dont myself.

I don't quite like it. I like the scales and I'm fine with black knives, it just doesn't wiggle my toes. Cool package overall though.

Nice enough knife, but its not for me.
I don't need one hand opening (yet) and I detest clips.

I don't own any BOM's either, so I'm unsure what the COA says. I have a few LE's and the COA says "only", as in 1 of only 25 produced.
I guess it proves the point how good a deal some of the custom shop offerings are. And the custom shop knives say "custom shop" on them, if that helps.

When I spoke to Buck, originally Ebony was not going to be offered in the Custom Shop it would be for only production knives. So the Dec. 2018 BOTM would have been something exclusive. After the original launch of returning to Ebony on the production model 110 and 112 there was an overwhelming demand by us to have Ebony added to the Custom Shop, Buck obliged, also adding phenolic to the Custom 119.
