April 2023 Buck of the Month Granadillo Handled Brass Bolster 113 Skinner w/ S45VN Blade

Yes...David has a LOT of 110's. I've watched him set up to display case after case packed full. But what is incredible is his knowledge of all things 110. He really needs to write a book..
you should talk him into that book....and while you're at it write your own book on the 112s...😄

Happy Hippo I will say I have a great collection of odd 112's mainly because I have chased the oddballs since 2007 or so. But there are dozens of Buck collectors who have fabulous collections of 112's who very quietly and oh so stealthy buy trade and bid on the best of the best..especially the Old Custom shop and employees knifes. Many are old time collectors who NEVER post pictures and have limited involvement on forums and Facebook. Many are very 'comfortable' so price is not a issue at all. Larry Oden sees a few rare ones that go on his lists but for the most part it's a black hole they dissapeared into..

Cut and paste from COOK WOODS:
"Deep reds, browns, blacks and occasional violets penetrate through this exotic hardwood. Similar to Cocobolo, another name for Granadillo is Mexican Rosewood, though Granadillo is easier to work and glues much more readily. It is dense and straight with a closed grain structure. Although not a true Rosewood, it is commonly used by many in South America for instrument building under the name Macacauba."
I might purchase one so I can say " I have a S45VN Macacauba knife!"

I like the sheath more than the knife. 😁 🙃🤪
