It's your first post. Since you're new here, I'll go a little easy and assume you're not purposely kicking a hornet's nest.

A thread title like "
Are all non US knives garbage?" is not only unnecessarily inflammatory, it doesn't really have anything to do with your actual question. You see, your question is actually "Do James knives and Kizer put out a quality product?" Instead, the thread title asks about ALL non USA made knives. If you stick to the actual issue, in your thread title, you'll get better responses.

To answer the question, yes plenty of foreign manufacturers make excellent knives, many make decent knives, and some make crap knives. But the same can be said for USA made products. The foreign producers don't have the market cornered on making crap.

It's not as if knives were invented in the US. Europeans and Asians have been making knives for milennia. You know it? Why would US knives be better than the rest. A lot of my knives are made in Germany, Italy & Spain and they are fantatic.

You guys shouldn’t even respond to these types of questions. Whether he kicked the hornets nest intentionally or by accident the hornets are unleashed. So let him have it. Also, his real question is, what is going to be his favorite edc. Tell me guys, how many of you figured that out on the first try. The answer is buy buy buy and figure it out as you go along.

Why did you ask the question? What’s your opinion? Is your SAK trash? Mora, Shirogorov, Reate, Lionsteel, Opinel, Cold Steel, Condor? Curious t hear your thoughts.

I have an Italian made knife in my hand right now. It's pretty damn fantastic. I like US made knives as much as the next American, but that's no reason to elimate every other knife made in another country. China gets a bad rap, mostly because it's the land of many clones, but there are many, many legitimate companies making knives above and beyond the capabilities most American knife manufacturers have.

Kizer has a good track history when it comes to their wares so there's really no reason to be concerned if one peaks your interest.

He asks if non-US knives are garbage. Then he states that he loves his SAK. Where are SAK’s made? He answers his own question.

Budget Chinese knives are mostly garbage. But depending on the user, that garbage might be adequate. With that said I have alot of good Chinese made knives that are amazing. Reate for one can hold its own against the majority of USA made knives.

Idk man. Budget chinese knives seem to be getting better every day.

There are still tons of crap chinese budget blades but there are outstanding budget chinese knives that are better than the chinese knives comissioned by US companies like Kershaw.
