It's pretty stabby.Yeah but is it thick enough?
Not by Tops standards. To them wrecking bars are flimsy, and not op8r enough.Yeah but is it thick enough?
How are you liking it so far?I think it's 1/4 inch

I like it, good balance and they vastly improved the sheath. Something different and it has a very solid feel, with a very acute point! How are you liking it so far?
That’s what I love about Tops, solid is something they’ve never lacked in.I like it, good balance and they vastly improved the sheath. Something different and it has a very solid feel, with a very acute point!
Agreed. If you were to argue/nitpick about Tops quality I would say maybe too solid hahaThat’s what I love about Tops, solid is something they’ve never lacked in.
That's where the crushing comes into play.Agreed. If you were to argue/nitpick about Tops quality I would say maybe too solid haha
Fair point, they definitely are the heavy side. They work perfectly for me, as I love sharpened demo tools. My only gripe is the fat grind angle makes it hard to sharpen at first, nothing a few minutes with a Fallkniven DC4 can’t fix.Agreed. Took me a while on a coarse diamond stone for my BOB. It was essentially a fat saber. Lots of metal removed later its a zero scandi with microbevel and cuts like a dream which is always funny because its like you said...a sharpened demo tool.Fair point, they definitely are the heavy side. Yea, the scandi-vex on the BOB have a lot of meat behind the edge.Took me a while on a coarse diamond stone for my BOB. It was essentially a fat saber. Now cut through some sappy woodGot the Tops Dart today. Feels amazing in hand, and balance point is right at the guard. Grind, geometry and fit and finish are superb! Not that thick BTE (for a Tops anyway), just a moment with this knife and I already like it better than the Alaskan Harpoon. Haven’t used it yet as I received it literally a half hour ago. So far highly recommended.View attachment 2330653
Forgot to mention, the teeth on the spine are extremely sharp. How are you liking it so far?
With the Carbon Content of Magnacut, I didn't believe it was a true stainless steel. Is that incorrect?I found two explanations on YT for the patina on some Bark River's Magnacut blades.
One comes from DLT saying they use the same belts on all knives so surface contamination with other, eg A2 steels can happen.
The second one comes from Bark River, saying the steel manufacturer botched up the stress relieve process (with too high temps?) that caused decarburization of the top layer of the steel. Adding, that belt contamination cannot be the cause, because they do batches, so then only Magnacut can contaminate Magnacut.

I apologize, apparently it's better not to comment on Blade Forums. You can read all about MagnaCut with links to further info here:
