Are knife guys like gun guys?

I was talking to a friend of mine who is a "Glock" guy. He said most gun guys have a brand they carry and will denounce all other brands as inferior. Are knife guys the same? I'm a ZT guy with Kershaw a solid second.
Anybody have any thoughts?

Today "Z" stands for ZING!

Zing is an Indian pay television music channel owned by Zee Entertainment Enterprises.

🤣 Well in my context above, it was a comment I made after someone issued a sharp rebuke (i.e. Sounds as Voketardist propaganda only ...)

I feel like I know a good cross section of these folks you are thinking of. I'm not certain that I can think of any gun or knife people I know, that "denounce all other brands". I don't think I would get along well with that type of personality.

I knew a few that used to do that with automotive brands, but they were either just ribbing each other or ignorant.

Some knife guy can get a little crazy too, like:

61HRC is wayyyyy better than 60HRC
S45VN is high end, S35VN is mid-high tier, S30V is mid tier (can you even tell them apart in real use)
M390 is 3rd gen, it's wayyy better than 20CV (again, can you tell them apart)

I know that since childhood
20CV is silly 2nd Gen
Inferior stuff

I'm a Glock, Colt, S&W, HK, private label AR 223/308 variants, Ruger, Remington, Stoeger, Mossberg, Kel-Tec, Hammerli, Benellii & GSG guy.

I'm also a Spyderco, ZT, Kershaw, Artisan Cutlery, Bastinelli, Benchmade, Brous Blades, Bradley-Kimura, BRS, Buck, Cardman, CPK, Cold Steel, CRKT, Extrema Ratio, Emerson, Fox, Gerber, Glock (knife), Gutman Cutlery, Helle, Hom, Hogue, Ka-Bar, Lagioule, Leatherman, LionSteel, MicroTech, Olamic, Ontario, Pro-Tech, Real Steel, Sheffield, SOG, S&W (knife), Brian Tighe and Wilson Combat (knife) guy.

These are all of brands of guns/knives that I own. Anything else is obviously inferior. LOL! ;)

OBTW, I currently own 7 Glocks and 150 Spydercos. So, while I am "mainly" a Glock and Spyderco guy, I still enjoy diversity in the guns/knives that I own.

Some people get pretty brand crazy over anything. They're a marketer's wet dream and handle a lot of the heavy lifting for the company. Some brands attract that sort more than others. You don't have to ask anyone if they own an Apple computer or drive a Tesla, because they'll tell you all about it. I don't shoot Canon because I think that everything else is bad. I shoot Canon, because once you buy some lenses these companies make you their slave, unless you want all new lenses and kit for a different brand camera.

Some people do get overly focused on gun brands and they tend to be the handgun people. I'm more of a mortar man myself. :-) The rifle that has me most interested these days is the Tikka T3x Arctic, because of the high quality workmanship. Similar things draw me to knife designers and companies, but I can't see a time where I'd be exclusive to any one company for much of anything. It's more about quality, availability, and if I like it.

True, and I'd say the same goes for some gun guys. People worried about which +P+ 9x19mm hollow point expands a fraction of a millimeter better against their water jugs or wet phone books, or has 2 more ft/lbs of muzzle energy, as though any ammo of that sort isn't going to ruin a bad guy's day and put him down.
