Are some knife Mfg. Using cult following to boost their profits.

I feel the point is that a cult following does not set the prices, the vendor selling the knife sets the pricing.
Other people might get another drift on the thread that's their right.

"This is one crazy thread. I can't understand the point of it."

It seems to be about OP not getting sprints for whatever reason and being angry that Sal won't do it the way he wants it. The rest is just fill to add on why he is right and Spyderco is not. So it seems anyways. Cults ? I have a different view of what a cult is.

That's some great kool-aid you got there Spyderco.

It was a fluke but I was able to buy both of these for less then a new military from the pawnshop. And they have slowly turned into my fav ones.

I mentioned in another thread recently how knives are a piece of art. And you pay more for original art then a copy. I don't own a Emerson so I can't speak for the quality. But he did make the revolutionary wave design which makes him an original artist. This is why he has the following he does. Maybe if( x brand knife) could actually come up with an original idea they would have a awesome fan base to

Where in any place in my original post do you see anything about me not getting sprint runs, also where in my original post do you see any sign of me being angry at Sal or making any comment about being angry at his company "Spyderco".
And where do you see in my original post that i am trying to be seen as being right about something, you need to re-read my original post in this thread, then maybe you might not think it's crazy and you might start understanding it.

Ehh not quite overlays...the Emerson cult doesn’t really seem to have many military posers and incels...
Can confirm. In fact, they are SUPER against military posers and stolen valor folks. I would say the two circles don't overlap as much as you might think, given this.

Source: I'm in this particular cult. Well, kinda.

You got that right.

Companies who make stuff.....any stuff....will charge what their customers are willing to pay. If your company has die hard loyal customers who will only use your knives or toilet paper or mayonnaise or cars or shoes....you can charge more.

It's not some vast Illuminati/Templar/Bilderberg conspiracy...its high school Econ 101.

And don't forget:

Fans of my favorite brand: Insightful knife users
Fans of your favorite brand: Mindless drooling cultist fanboys.

I charge less than I know I can sell my knives for. I don't want people displaying my work as a means to make other people think they are of higher status.

Well don't tell anybody, but I have been buying ball peen hammers, putting CMFTW on them and selling them for quadruple big box retail! Selling like hotcakes! :D Got some "sprint runs" planned.

Incidentally, if there is anyone here who perhaps believes that CM is kidding himself or overestimating the quality of his knives when he says things like this, you would be mistaken.

This is why I like you CM. If I ever get my damn motorcycle to sell I am going to have to commission something from you.

The interesting question to me is "How do we categorize a knife brand as having a 'cult' following?"

Are ZT fans, for example, going goofy over the latest LE/sprint run "cultish," or does the brand need a charismatic leader to qualify?

Pffft. Just more ranting from a Charlie Mike cultist.

Which is fine, you guys are why my ball peens sell so well.

:D

I admit, ya got me. I am loving this EDC model you sold me, with the extra ballpeenness. It's my favorite. :D
