If there are any left they should be. My closest store is sold out!!!! I wanted to put a few on layaway before Christmas to pick up now and they wouldn't let me - said they were going to be marked down by the time I would pick them up....
about a week before christmas i got two of them, they were marked down to 15.00. what a deal. i live here in florida, but all of the wal-mart's around my area do not have them.i ended up going to a super wal-mart with the wife and just got lucky
I was just in thinking that I needed to salt a couple away...and the Wal-Mart that I was in hadn't marked them down.
As a side note, I really went in to the Gander Mt., they had them for 27.99 just before Xmas...now they're back to 34.99. You get a 10.00 rebate and the leather sheath, which I wanted. I'll probably go back and get two even at 34.99 because of the sheath. Can anyone in retail sales explain to me the reasoning in putting them on sale before Xmas and then back up again after!!!!!!!!!!!! Preston
I saw on a site, maybe Wally's, that this Buck 110/tin is not available in all states and stores. Here in Los Angeles, I picked 3 up on Dec 23rd at $24 each. They had a display case full, which looked like about 25 or more knives.
.
When I bought two before Christmas I asked the manager if they'd go on sale after Christmas and she said yes. I called yesterday and was told they still had lots of them left, but they're not on sale. The person was not a manager, and didn't know when they might go on sale. I'm going to call every day. If I can pick some up for less than $20, I'll be there!
The last one, at a local store, was sold to me for 50%-off. The tin was looking "rough," however, with its shrink-wrap missing and the fake black velvet insert ripped. But, the 110 and its sheath were fine, and I got the whole deal for $11.65 plus tax. Yes, $11.72 is 50% of $23.44, but neither me nor the "associate" could figure that out as I was trying to pay.
i passed up on them in north carolina after thanksgiving, at wal-mart. kicking myself now, and i did not know what buck 110's usually go for. can't find any here in tampa, but i plan to ride out to some stores on the out skirts of tampa this weekend. i live closed to the city of tampa and the wal-marts here suck for camping/hunting/outdoors stuff... but a few miles away, towards the woods, the wal-mart stores get a lot better in those areas. hopefully i'll get lucky and find me some of these cheap (but quality knives.
I just came from my Wally world--they have about 6 or 8 left, but not on sale, yet. Even at $23.44, still a good deal especially if the Idaho tang stamp is not going to last. I've picked up two and custom made a leather holster for the one I carry.
Went to the local walmart out here. They still had about 20 tins left. However, they are not marked down yet still 23.44 each. If they drop the price I'll pick up one or two more. I got two for xmas. One was in ruff form, two nicks in the top of the blade and there is a small gap in the top bolster (not riveted tight) resulting in a loose blade. Not a problem as this on will be going in for a blade upgrade!!!!
I was at my local Wal-Mart today, and they had six or seven tins left with a bargain price of $11 ea. Right on the counter above the knife photoboards with a bright orange sign.
I don't know a lot about Knife collecting. How do you get a Blade up grade? I have a couple of knives that someone had sharpened and the blades became "wittled down"
Thanks
Porkey
