Are the walmart buck tins on sale yet?

A Wally World in San Jose marked them down to $5 and sold them all yeterday - about two hours before I got there! The one in Mountain View still has some at $23.44.

I bought two. I was going to keep them in the clear wrap that the tin came packaged with. Today I was looking at the tins. Temptation overcame me and I tore off the clear wrap and opened the tins to check out the 110's. Beautiful grained wood handles. Into my collection they went!
PS
How long did you guys hold out before you got into your "Gift" tins?

About two minutes after I got in the door and took my jacket off. :D I'm giving two of them to my brothers-in-law, but I'm keeping the tins and bottle openers.

I got a couple tins, bottle openers, and sheaths left over from the dual-blade knives. Wanna deal? :D

I went to 4 Wal-marts in Washington today. Two had 6-8 left at a pre-clearance $23.44 price and the other two had none left because they had already sold out from the clearance table.

Oregon, do you know if there are any left at the Woodburn, Oregon store?

SAK,

Yes, there are 15 boxes remaining @ $15/box as of 8:30 AM Wednesday January 11th. Happy hunting.

I figured that I would clean the shelf when & if they dropped below $10 and I was lucky enough to be there before they sold out. My guess is that the employees are watching them as well as us.

Best,

Wednesday evening, January 11th, 9 tinned Bucks left at Woodburn, OR WM. A few minor dents now showing in a minority of the tins. Plastic wrap still intact on all tins.

Talked with a clerk about the clearance of the #110's in tins and she said that they were selling so well that the current $15 price would stay for several months, if necessary. There is no plan to lower the price any further.

Don't be disappointed when you can't find a Buck 371 Stockman that isn't perfect. I have it now (one out of four there). Rosewood scales, 440C blades, perfect fit and finish, solid open and closed, nickel silver bolsters and pins and brass liners for $20. Beautiful. Rides nicely in my back left pocket, under my small wallet.

Best,

oregon

I just picked up two of them today at the Wal-Mart in York, SC for $23.44 each ($24.85 with tax).

A very nice deal IMO.
But the sheath is a real cheapie, why not a nice leather one?

Good luck,
Allen.

1/12/06 our local walmart has only 13 more tins left, still at the $17 price. They have sold about six tins this week. The sporting goods area looked like they were changing the displays. So maybe the price will be reduced again..... one can only hope.
