Are you a Benchmade or a Spyderco type of person?

Both brands offer great knives. I am more of a benchmade nut, probably due to the fact that I am a lefty and all of the axis lock knives lend themselves to lefties easier than most (not all spydies).

Yes.

But having said yes to both, only one of these companies is offering innovation and value. And it isn't Benchmade.

i loves both brand of knives but cant get past the axis lock its the strongest lock i have ever seen. so that puts me on the benchmade side. spyderco lock are just not as strong.

Oh my... Thank God the expert has arrived.

I'm just a hair under 45, bachelor, teacher. Been accumulating knives for not that long, or maybe too long.

I have about 2 dozen Spyderco's and about a dozen Benchmades. I guess that would make me a Spyderco guy, huh? I LOVE the 710 but don't care for the recurve.

I'd have to say that I really like the way the Benchmade's look, but I love the way the Spyderco's feel and work. And they're always way sharper out of the box and have a better relief edge IMO.

I would definitely not say that I hate Benchmades, but it is often a love/like relationship.

Barely over 40...drive a 4x4 pickup, am a firearms instructor with a fed. Law Enf. Agency, married with runts and have owned many BM and Spyderco's over the years. While I love BM's, the functionality of Spyderco's and their usefulness in a 1* situation, leaves me with mostly spyderco. My EDC on duty is a Spyderco Paramilitary, native or Chinook 1. All this being said, I think I need to check out the new BM 755 :)

when i 1st got into knives, i preffered BM, but since '04 or so its been all spydie.

BM disco'd a lotta stuff i liked, and not much of the new has "grabbed" me.

i am of the opinion that the axis lock is as good as it gets FWIW, the spydie comprtession is also top notch though,

though i mostly carry customs nowadays the only production which sees much pocket time is my spydie Ti ATR, in fact i have been edc'ing it for the last few months, its a great lite thin easy to edc knife, i have 3 of the things FWIW, 3 ti and also a SS, i guess ya could say i like 'em lol.

Benchmade. For number of reasons.
I tried to like Spyderco's and I have 20+ of them to prove it, but the only one I carry (on a rare occasion) is Caly 3 ZDP-189, others just sit there.

With over 30 Spyderco blades and only 8 BM I guess you could say I'm more a Spyderco guy but the truth is I've got my eye on more than a few Benchmades at the moment, just haven't pulled the trigger or they aren't available yet.

I tend to buy what appeals to me and lately that has been more in the Spyderco and Kershaw product lines but this time next year I might have equal numbers of BM and Spyderco. Just depends on who's making what, when.

This thread has pretty much run it's course.
It is very much like an argument in a grammar school playground.
