Are you a BK&T lurker?..

Same here lurked for 3 years as you can see from my join date. Accumulated near the whole Becker line, so thought I might as well step up. Only been active this year. glad I did though, great bunch of people.

Howdy, My name is Don and I'm a lurker. :)

I started out with a BK2. A wonderfully useful and nearly indestructible piece of steel.

Seems like the more I lurk the more Beckers end up in my collection.

Great to see all post up; the BK&T sub-forum has some of the Knicest Knife Knuts you will find, and that among the generally very Knice folk who inhabit BF generally. Great to see you all here.

As for pics - especially of special pieces like the Brute, remember:
Without pics - it didn't happen and if I didn't get it Certified - I never got it!

Salt + Shot + Lime = Amateur
Shots are a waste of good whiskey...sip & enjoy.
If you've got to disguise the taste, it's time for an upgrade.

Of course, if we're looking for an excuse to use lime - grab a bottle of Yukon, and line up the snakebites.

Naahhhh ~~ just give me a double Crown and couple of large ice cubes and I will enjoy sitting in the shade.!******

Well, I am not a big fan of that whole process. I like quality tequila, though I admit I usually prefer Blancos. However, I am a 21 year old going into my senior year of college. Out at a college bar with friends/girls/girlfriend where you don't even really know what kind they're giving you? Sometimes the lime helps. My girlfriend won't even touch tequila unless it's in an ultra sweet margarita.

I like sipping scotch, but in my little experience bad scotch is really bad and good scotch is really good.

I'm planning on making a little dinner tonight to christen my girlfriend's new apartment, so I'm thinking I'll use my new 15 for that. No limes though haha

At a college bar, you can pretty much rest assured that they aren't giving you anything worth sipping, lol.
Scotch? I remember several years ago, deciding that it was time to grow up and start drinking scotch - I found it hideous; despite repeated efforts. On the bright side - thus began my love affair with bourbon...and, soon after, tequila. I've got a full bottle of (The) Glenlivet 15 that I received as a gift a while back - I keep thinking that one day I'll break it open for a taste...but I'm half afraid that I'll like it, and want to launch myself into that exploration.

Wow, based on the responses of people who think limes are mainly for shots, I suddenly feel like an old guy talking to college students. If you're drinking clear rum or tequila (something I never do by choice), add a little fresh lime juice and ice. If you're drinking anejo, add nothing.

I've never been a party liquor man. Give me a bottle of High West or Four Roses Single Barrel and a glass then walk away.

I hope I'm reading this wrong. If you've ever in your life done a shot of whiskey with salt and lime, you either did it very wrong or someone played a prank on you. :D

Another longer-term lurker.

Too old for shots, unless they're at the range.

And I don't always choose lime. But when I do, I pair it with a fine anejo in a Paloma Natural or a Sangrita.

Mostly, I stick to simple sippin' and fine edges!

I was a little confused by that as well.

I know, I know, tequila isn't whiskey; but the sentiment still applies.
Shots are a waste of good tequila, too; and if you need lime for your tequila, you need an upgrade.

Noooooo.
Limes are good for girlie drinks, too. I use them when I'm making stuff for the gf, and her friends.
I've got nothing against limes....I just don't want them in my tequila (unless, through some horrible chain of events, I happen to not have any decent tequila)

Definitely no college guy here - I'll be on the wrong side of 50 next year, lol.

Agreed. The only shot I've had in the last half decade was handed to me at a wild Persian wedding in Mexico. It was blue. I don't know what it was and I learned my lesson. I was a whiskey-only man for 15 years. But good whiskey is hard to find in the Caribbean and I was there on a job for 3 months last year. So I picked up a taste for rum. The sweetness in a bottle of Ron Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva makes a good choice if you don't like cocktails.

I lurk far more than I post..

Some of you Beckerheads met me at Blade this year but the rest of you have probably just seen my name down at the bottom of the page amongst the lurkers.
Upped my lurking of the BK&T subforum some time last summer and I´ve since enjoyed a lot of the threads containing modding, gatherings, the odd troll, contests and user pics.
Cheers!

Howdy guys! Not really a lurker but new to the Becker Knife & Tool forum. My name is David and after years of eye balling the BK7 I finally ordered one. And I really liked it. The BK11 had always interested me but I didnt think the handle would fit my hand but deciced to try it any way. I fit better than I thought it would and after I put some micrata handles on it its even better. The BK4 never really seem to appeal to me but after reading about deciced to give it a try and while I have not used it yet I know it is a capable blade fer sure! I been moving so have not had the time to use them much in the wild yet hopefully soon. If I ever figure out how to post pics from my computer to the forum there shall be pics with my post in the future.

I do more lurking than posting. Working towards changing that though. Just need to remember to take pics while using my Becker's.
