If you are running late, please post here so that your recipient will know that it is late, but that the knife is coming eventually.

Well I am not late anymore. I got mine sent off yesterday, finally. I will post some pics of it after he gets it.

Yes, I am late. My heat treated knife is somewhere in the postage system and will get its handle, finish and edge soon

Here are a couple pics of the knife I sent to Matt Martin out in Arizona. The blade is 1084 with an overall length of 9.4 inches. The cutting edge is about 4 3/8 inch long with a handle of about 4.5 inches. I did an differential heat treat to the blade and should be an RC of about 60. The blade was sanded to 600 grit after hand filing all of the bevels on the blade. The handle is Burlap Micarta with a black spacer between the micarta and blade. I used stainless corby bolts and stainless tubing for the thong hole. This is my first knife from start to finish without any outside help. Well I did get some advice as I went along by email from a couple of friends back in Georgia. :) Thanks guys. The sheath is my first attempt ever. Hope you like it, Matt said he did. :)

I have not taken any pics yet of the one he sent me, but it is nice and I am putting it to go use.

Unfortunately, yes I am late with Alex Noot's knife. I did make some good progress today and things are looking good to start with the handle assembly tomorrow. Sheath work I can save time and do at work, where most of the other stuff I can't, but it is coming along nicely! -Matt-

yes i am late,,, yes I suck,,,, siguy has delivered ( but I haven't opened) a great knife,,,,I have a heat-treated and sanded to 220 blade,,,trying,,,,,

I finally got your knife done Alex! I should be shipping it out tomorrow before work. I hope you enjoy using it as much as I enjoyed making it! -Matt-

Disclaimer: I did enjoy making this knife, even though most of the time I looked like this  :grumpy: :barf: :( But I worked through the worst of the mistakes and learned quite a bit from them. Now I look like this! :D

Well, aaaahummm, ya I'm still trying to get one finished for a very patient and understanding James Robertson. He sent me mine, but I've left him dangling. I have my shop, such as it is, at the high school where I teach. We're getting ready to relocate the campus to another property and I've been asked to streamline. So I'm scrambling to rig up work space at my residence, a rental, and its proving a daunting task....but I'm making headway.

So hang in there James. I've got your blade done and the hardware and handle roughed out. I hope she'll have been worth the wait.

All the best, Phil

If you're late getting your knife made and sent out, please respond here and let the person know that you're working on it please. We still have quite a few that haven't received their Christmas knife yet.

I'm seriously considering not running this anymore. It's just NOT FAIR to the those that honored their commitments. I won't call anyone out by name, but you know who you are.

I haven't participated in this before, but I was planning on it this coming year. It would be a pity if you stopped. I wonder if somebody just can't get theirs made for whatever reason, perhaps they could give a good production knife in exchange. Like a Sebenza or something, they're kind of handmade, just not buy the correct hands, and nobody ever opened a gift box and said, "Aw crap, a Sebenza.."

NOOOOOO DON'T QUIT SCOTT!!!!!! I plan on joining for 2009.... now if someone already knows they can't finish the knife and would like to send me a Pease or Appleton I'd be more than happy to accept that instead of their own creation! :p

Maybe we could send them all to Scott next year no later than a week before Christmas then whoever he receives packages from gets one sent back. We could even send a flat fee (to be determined by Scott) for the second shipping from him to the recipient.

What really disappoints me as that one of the ones that wasn't sent was by a maker who posts here daily with new knives being made all the time. I'm at a complete loss on that.

It is a real shame that a few could really screw this up. Scott I hope you continue to do this next year. I was a couple weeks late but I got it done and I am looking forward to next year.

Maybe you should post their names here and let everyone know who they are. I am not for embarassing anyone, but they have had enough time to atleast let everyone know they are running behind or even say I am sorry but I can't get it done.

I don't feel that this is the right forum to be calling people out. They know who they are and I know who they are. One of them did this last year and the year before! All kinds of excuses last year, and now again this year. He is definitely not going to be included next year, if I run it again. :grumpy::mad:

Aaaaaaaaarghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
