Fixed blade knives are not really an EDC option in many locations due to legal constraints.

Under 4" blades are legal in my state, but I can imagine faces of my coworker when they see me carrying fix Lum Tanto at work, especially on the days, when I am in the office . Most likely it will cost me my job as well :(:( due to no weapon policies.

Possibly we as a group spending less $$ on knives, but I do not see any complains of dealers, who would express it as sales. I didn't see sales even on Memorial Day

I'm spending way less, like almost 100% less than what I spent in 2015 and 2014. I'm seeing a lot of stuff that does not appeal to me in the least. Like a race by multiple manufacturers to crank out as much product as possible. I've only bought 2 knives this year, one Emerson and one ZT.
In my opinion most of it is just poorly constructed, bad lock geometry, bad heat treat, poor ergonomics, horribly expensive for what the customer is getting. There are some really nice knives out, but at the end of the day they just aren't worth the price of admission. I got tired of being the beta tester for $200-$400 knives that are hyped up to be damned and when it counts there is nothing really there other than very expensive machined parts that do not fit together and are ultimately not what the manufacturers want us to think.
I might step away from folders for a while and travel the fixed blade route much more. I already own several dozen fixed blade and they are very different overall.

Just pissed the wife off with yet another knife purchase. She was actually cool with it but I'm surprising her with a nice dinner tomorrow night :)

It comes to me in waves. I'll accumulate for a while, decide I don't need them anymore and sell most of them off and just keep one or teo, then a few months later realize "Oh hey, that's cool" and get back into. I sold off everything a couple months back with the exception of my Adamas (my first love), and then I decided I wanted to try my first Sebenza after all these years of being into knives.... then a found a good deal on a Tilt, hey I used to have a Tilt, that'd be fun! Then I got my old orange Military back from a good friend, and then a new ZT came out that I liked, and then.... you know how it goes. I just got my 0095 in the mail a few days ago and now there's already a Contego on its way to my door. I'll probably something else soon. Maybe in a few weeks or months I'll clear them all out. It's a big game
