Arg! USPS lost my knife. (Resolved)

I sent my AFCK to Benchmade for a tune up and they called and said they have the package but no knife. They sent it all back
to me and there was a hole in the package and I lost my first BM. This was about a month or two ago. I did not have insurance.

I have a package that went MIA on the 17th. It was supposed to be delivered yesterday, the 20th but it hasn't been scanned since the 17th when it arrived at an Oklahoma sort facility. I'm just giving it time before I start to worry about it. Yes it sucks that it probably wont be here before xmas but not much I can do but wait for now.

ditto. I traded for a scope, the other guy got the knives I sent a couple days ago but my pacage went into limbo as of the 17th . . . I really needed it for a range test today too dangit
 
It happens, I have been lucky so far. Insurance is key. At least get the value back but sucks you will not be able to use it this Christmas.
 
This is a good time to remind members to reenforce their packages with clear 2inch wide packing tape! I do that for all my packages now.
 
OH Brudda ,I can relate to that, just about everyone has a usps story,They can lose a registerd insured Priority package, the registerd is there most secure method
I sent it to A.Z.C.K. in Florida,tracking showed it as refused! needless to say A.Z.C.K. never saw the package!! couple of phone calls to St. Augustine Post Offfice
two week's later it showed up......

I wrap the crap out of every package I send. Reinforce with at least 1 layer of tape around every fold.
 
I had one shipped to me on the 11th and it's still not here. It shows up as dispatched to sort facility and that's, it should have been here Tuesday.
 
The winter storms a while back are still wreaking havoc in postal backlogs. We have family that works in the postal service and they are working sunday to try and catch up a bit, lets hope your packages get delivered before the holidays!
 
Don't count your knife as lost yet. USPS is dragging their feet like tanks are tied to them right now. All off my packages have been getting spotty at best tracking updates, and have been arriving 3-4 days late regardless of shipping speed. Things will speed back up a little into January.

When I went in Wednesday to ship a knife out, I almost couldn't see the USPS lady. She had a fortification of boxes to be shipped out I the waist-height counter stacked about 4 feet high. They are, to say the least, a bit busy right now.
 
I just had the same thing happen and I called the destination post office and talked to a very helpful gentleman that looked in all of their programs and found out that it got sent to the wrong sort facility because of a misread of a scanner. He informed me that the scanners actually take a picture of every package they scan and was able to tell me if the package had been damaged or not. He then personally made a phone call to get everything sorted out and delivered the next day.

This is the first time that I have received that kind of service for the USPS, and was glad I found a helpful person. I'm not saying you'll get this kind of help, but it doesn't hurt to call the destination post office and ask about the package.
 
Im in the same boat. I ordered a Sebenza 25 from KSF and it was supposed to be delivered today. Bad thing is though that KSF only insured it for $100 so if it is lost Im out $345

Maybe our knives are hanging out together as mine came from KSF as well. Here's to hoping they show up.
 
I'm in my 6th day of waiting for a sebenza that was shipped via 2-day priority. Everything I've ordered through UPS and Fedex has arrived on time though.

Odd. I haven't had a single package be on time since Thanksgiving. Not even my stuff shipped from Amazon with 2 day shipping arrived on time.

I just hope this isn't USPS doing their best, because it either means that the sheer scope of packages being sent right now is nigh inconceivable or their best under pressure is pretty sad.
 
update - exactly 5 days after making it to Charleston NC and going into limbo, my package has made it to a processing center south of Seattle. Know hope
 
FYI : I got this in an unrelated email from a different company.

Please be informed that USPS is not updating their shipping status very often, unlike Fedex and UPS, especially during the holiday season. However, USPS will eventually update their shipping status once the item has been delivered.
 
Lefty, my package finally got processed out of Portland and all signs point to my Sebenza being here tomorrow. I hope you get some good news as well.
