If I can just find those other parts, and put 'em together,

Good luck to you Gary. I understand the competition is going to take place on Friday afternoon at the Historic Arkansas Museum. Here's one of my pieces. This brute is one that I just rough forged from W2.
This year the AKA is sponcoring a cutting competition with a new twist. The knives in addition to meeting the normal ABS guidelines must be a Bowie style, have natural handle material and be available for sale at the show. After getting some excellant tips on building a competition cutter from Jim Crowell & Lin Rhea at the AKA meeting last month at Crowell's shop, I was inspired to get in the competition. I have built three competition knives in the past. Each time after using it found something that I wish that I had done differently. We'll see how I do this time.
If you are in Little Rock early for the show you might want to take in the competition. They are always lots of fun.
