that's gorgeous Don

This an interpretation of two noteworthy Sheffield cutlers, Chevalier and George Woodhead. The 8 1/4 inch blade is W2 steel, the fittings are German Silver, and the handle materials are Mammoth and Stag. This Bowie knife is assembled much in the same way the old ones were.

That's beautiful, Lin. I'm anxious to get a closer look at this one.

Thanks Jon and Lorien. First black lip in a long while.

I have a fighter finished, but can't get a decent photo of it.

Also have a bunch more knife parts scattered around the shop. Time is getting short!

Here's one I'll be bringing to the show

W-2- damascus and stag. It does have a nice hamon but its polished to the point its hard for me to capture it with a camera.
10" blade - 15 1/4" OAL- 6" sharpened top clip - twist .9999 silver inlaid in the spacer

Very nice, Bill. From what I can see, it looks like you got some nice activity in the hamon. I like it a lot.

Bill that's a beautiful fighter with outstanding stag and fittings.

Chris

Thanks guys, Wife and I are really looking forward to seeing everyone again. Sure hope we don't get a snow storm about that time.

Bill

I heard Lin say a while back that he was forging most of his fittings and this is a great example. Just beautiful!

Thanks for posting that Roger. I've been kind of busy. If you'd like to see a few pics of the part's developement, here is a slideshow link. It's pretty short but gives you a good idea of the process that I used to get the parts made. The major forged fittings are of low carbon steel that I forged from RR spikes. Good clean material, very tough and responsive. I guess that's why they used it.

The Arkansas Show is always a showcase for fine Forged Bowies.
Looks like we can expect the same this year.

Some awesome knives. Got to say that this one is my favourite hunter, Bud just keeps knocking beautiful knives out!!
Time to bring this thread up from the depths with a sweet hunter that will grace the table of Bud Richards at Little Rock:
