Hi every body,

It's the occasion to wish you all to be safe and in a good health.
This virus shows us that we are all in the same boat .

As a very good friend of mine always finish his messages : ONLY JOY !

For me, being in the technical side of manufacturing, work is still ongoing.... with a lot of health precautions, and some scheduling changes.
It might be a nice break to "work from home", and would almost certainly be safer, but my job is a hands-on kind of thing.
Like they always say on the "cop shows" on TV.... "ok, let's be safe out there".... :D

one thing great about this hobby, you can always come to the porch to take your mind off of all the happenings in the world. be safe everyone.
You can also not watch the "news" on TV, listen to it (or the "talk shows") on the radio, or read any of the newspaper except the
"educational page(s)" (AKA: "The Comics")
That also relieves and/or avoids stress. :)

I figure "It is what it is." Ain't nuthin' I can do about what's going on in this country/state/county/city, let alone what is going on in Europe, the Mid East and/or Africa anyway, so why fret about it?
I think the "news" tells us what's going on elsewhere as a "See? It could be worse!" reminder.
I read online that something like all of the ingredients of my pain medication, are made in China, so there may (will?) be a "shortage" of my meds. I found out that even the low dose Bayer Aspirin I am supposed to take comes from Germany, and there may (will?) be a shortage of that, as well. Nuthin' I can do about it. Can't "stock up" on or horde prescription meds, after all.
When (if?) I run out of pain meds ... well ... I may not enjoy it, but I been in pain before ... no doubt I will be again ... pain ain't gonna kill me (it ain't yet anyway. besides, if I am ever pain free, I'll know I'm dead) ... no need to fret about it.

I suddenly find myself with an abundance of pocket space since I'm at home and no longer have to carry keys, phone, or wallet. I'm going to do something crazy and carry two knives today!

I have noticed more nice knives being posted, and interesting posts in general!! You'd think everyone had extra spare time!!??:D
I had an Italian friend who absolutely reveled in time off!!
His expression was "Dolce fare niente!!" Essentially "doing sweet nothing!!"
It included very creative thinking - something we are robbed of, in this busy scramble of a world!!:)
A silver lining???

When I had the chance to retire early, I took it and ran like hell. When my wifes friends all would ask what I'm doing with my time, I used the answer that the guy in the movie "Office Space" used. I told them that I was doing nothing, and doing nothing was everything I though it would be!

You might get more involved with your hobbies during a self quarantine, but if you're sick, I doubt you'll be thinking about knives. I was at the doctor yesterday for something I believe is un-related to the covid-19.... basically my eyes were apparently infected and I could not see much of anything. My pupils would not adjust to light conditions and there was a lot of scratchiness in my eyes to the point that I pretty much was blind. Needless to say, I was not thinking about opening a knife or cutting a damn thing. Things are a bit better today so I am pondering what I want to do. I think it is going to be learn how to use Photoshop better. I know the basics, but I have a long way to go messing with digital images.

The problem with Doing Nothing is you never know when you are done .

I'm a bibliophile, but I largely stopped buying books years ago. Truth be told, I rarely read a book more than once, and as they simply sat around taking space and gathering dust, I made the decision to avail myself of the modern wonder that is the lending library. Besides, the money I saved was better put to use buying knives, guns, and ammo. o_O All was well until this week, where I find myself at home with a precocious ten-year-old and a dearth of age suitable books. The libraries are closed and these are all I have on hand!

When she finishes these I suppose it's time she learns how to properly sharpen her scout knife.
