Around the knives

And it's a very nice grouping at that! Beautiful pieces.

Very decent of you to say so thanks:thumbsup: Interestingly, they are all users apart from two of the 62s (Ironwood&Jigged Bone that are destined for tube Mummification) and the 73 Beaver Pond-very early GEC. It fell out of a box on the stairs as removers were bringing stuff in:eek: Survived intact:D

Went out today and found a decent leather apron in some discount shop. Good quality and it's going to be useful not just for culinary duties or gardening but around knives too, sharpening, stropping and just messing about with them, which can be messy and ruin a favourite shirt:eek: Plus being leather it smells great :D Think I'll hang the Beer Scout off one of the straps, cutting citrus and opening bottles can be messy too;)

I'm a bibliophile, but I largely stopped buying books years ago. Truth be told, I rarely read a book more than once, and as they simply sat around taking space and gathering dust, I made the decision to avail myself of the modern wonder that is the lending library. Besides, the money I saved was better put to use buying knives, guns, and ammo. o_O All was well until this week, where I find myself at home with a precocious ten-year-old and a dearth of age suitable books. The libraries are closed and these are all I have on hand!

When she finishes these I suppose it's time she learns how to properly sharpen her scout knife.
Don't make that poor kid read Where The Red Fern Grows! You'll be dealing with a sobbing precocious 10 year old... I self inflicted myself with that one at about 10 and still haven't gotten over it. :(
I'm one of those guys that can't work from home either, been out getting stumps ground, I don't see most of my customers anyway so I keep my social distance.

I think I was 13 when I first read Where the Red Fern Grows. All these years later it's still a favorite.

It is a great story, sorry for not underlining the title, but I got lazy. I've got a hard core soft spot for dogs, don't think I could even read it now without having a good cry...

Don't worry about it...lol. I don't much care about others' use of italics, quotation marks, and underlining. Long years of study have made it second nature for me though. It takes more effort on my part to omit them.

I even use complete sentences when texting!

It was a favorite of mine growing up as well, read it many times, but not for many years now. I still have it tucked in a box around here, and consider reading it again every once in a while.

Youre best off reading the books a a storyteller would...out loud and using the voices of celebs as the characters...Donald Trump as Tom Sawyer springs to mind...the whole fence painting deal....anyway...thats what I'd do...if I wasnt so busy derailing this thread..
A true pirate be a keepin his knives in a treasure chest arrr hharr.

Ive been babying my knives all week, cleaning and oiling, touching up edges and stropping. I havent bought a new knife this year aside from the forum knife. I recently moved and was planning to look for work begining this week, but it looks to be on hold for a while longer. I got a bad hunger for a new knife, but nows just not the time. Got my BF2019 on me today but I know my 82 is coming out next after todays spa!

Glad to hear the Beaver Pond (early GEC) move went well:D.

Well I got a stomach bug and due to a fever I have to self quarantine. It sucks not being around my wife and two year old. But at least I have bladeforums and these to keep me company.

Sorry to hear that. Good luck!
