Thanks to everyone for their perspective on this and thanks Phil for the link. This is fascinating stuff.

golden taurus:

Not Taurus,... "torus", and intersecting/overlapping various negative and positive toroidal elements, lines and fragments.

... working the "symbol" of the torus and how it relates to the symbol of the knife... implied negative space, stretching, elongating, flattening and piercing the torus, etc., etc., etc... :)

re: golden taurus

You have to admit, that was funny

...I crack myself up...

That pict of "golden torus" is amazing. What is that?

Holy smokes Tai... I'm speechless. You're beyond Zen, you're cosmic man. That's awesome stuff!

The torus is everywhere!…

It might not be cubism, but “Toroidalism“ rocks!

Here’s an integral I’m working on with a lot of toroidal elements, segments and fragments etc. The main obvious toroidal feature is the center detail of the knife in the bolster area. The handle will also be torus form derivative. I'm also trying to use straight lines, un-modulated lines and 90 degree angles very sparsely.

Now that's one sweet looking knife!! That would be perfect for my ritual sacrifices.:D....Just kidding. I really like it though, very "toroidal". I think it would be a neat design to have made into bronze too. It has almost a bronze-age look to it.

Phil, we must have crossed posts.

... just put some clay on the back and followed the flow of the form.
