ASHBM--now that the speculation is over…

I pray for the day when I have your approval. Maybe after I have thousands of posts on an Internet forum... Someday...
It was not my intention to hurt any feelings. The mod obviously looks up to you, and I'm sure for good reason. For the mod: I'm not a dog. I don't seek anyone's praise.

Some folks are slow to learn... Drop this subject or you're gone. It's that simple.

Another improvement I've noticed in the new handle design--the old micarta shape had a "corner" at the top rear of the slab that could raise a hot spot on the fleshy part of my lower palm during extended chopping. The new handle has a smoother, more rounded transition in that area and doesn't create that pressure point, at least for me.

Will, Thank You for the review.:) I appreciate you taking the time to inform those of us who do not have an ASHBM yet.
I can't wait to get my hands on mine.

Thanks, Al. I always enjoy the photos you post of your knives and sheaths when a new model is introduced.

Looking forward to it.

Is this knife you reviewed the same as in the ganza Will? Except for the big finish of course. If so I know my first choice.

Never mind, I just noticed the dates for the original post, October 2013. I didn't belly up to the trough of madness until April 2014. I would have liked one of those though!

Not quite. This was a special run of 300 knives that had a swedge-ground clip. The BIG knife is just like the ones on the website now for sale, with clip point but no swedge grind. I have both ASHBM's--swedged and non-swedged--and I can't tell any real difference in handling characteristics.

The BIG finish knife @ $517 ganzaa price looks like a very good deal, with BBDC (bead-blast double-cut) costing $65 more in the regular offering on the website.
