Ashokan is set!

oh no =( That stinks. I was so looking forward to meeting you and seeing some of your works in person. Gosh that stinks. (and that's too mild of a way of putting it) I'll have to wear my kilt and hoist a dram in your honor regardless =/

At Ashokan now, there is a name tag for Stacy here???

I talked with Tim, and as of now, I think i am the first person registered for Ashokan 2010. I will sorely miss you guys. I have finally lifted my spirits about half way, and will go out in the forge tomorrow for a long therapy session.
I still can't figure out what happened.

Damn, wish I coulda been there. Bad scene here, but hopefully things will recover enough that I can make next year.

Pray for me fella's I'm in hell, and I want out!

Justin,
Last night, I hoisted a dram ( OK, a couple of drams) of 101+ year old scotch in you guys honor ( vatted 1908). I will keep the rest until next year, when it will be 102+ years old.

I'm putting the finishing touches on the sword blade this afternoon.
See you next year. Have a safe trip home.
Stacy

Justin had some very interesting scotch,I'll let him describe it if he wants. Roman Landes had some very interesting information on what sharp really is, how to quantify it, and the metallurgy of the material that supports the geometry that cuts. Delbert did a great presentation on Damascus patterning, and followed it with a forgewelding demonstration. There was a panel discussion on the business of knifemaking. The sheathmaking presentation was quite informative. Tim Zowada demonstrated blade forging, and Kevin Cashen's handle/gaurd presentation will be very useful. I have left out a bunch of stuff, but others can fill that in.

If you don't have a power hammer use a power Sammer

im back and beat but would not trade the weekend for anything
havinga beer and knowing full well im not going to be wortha dam in the morning after all those late nights

Man, I had a pretty eventful trip back. Stopped in Philly to pick up some Parks from Patriqq and my nav decided to take me through the seedier side on the way out. Got to see the cops shut down the other side of the thruway and put like 8 motorcyclists down on their bellies with guns drawn. Had a guy on 95 south smoke his front tire when it blew somewhere around Delaware and then sat in traffic down in my area! Got home around 8:30pm (left Ashokan at 12:30). But seeing everyone (minus the sorely missed folks) was well worth it! Always a great weekend!

Did the Bikers have colors on their backs????

I couldn't tell. Looked like a bunch of crotch rockets and the angle I had from the other side of the jersey wall wasn't the best...
