I have to say I could never stand him. I even thought he was just some dumbass that bought a knife and is clueless about it but, hearing about him being a gun lover and owning a Surefire , has me giving him props. Redeeming.
 
Pretty cool that he's not quite the rock-head he plays on TV. He just got a lot more of my respect for that. :cool::thumbup:

Really can't say I hated him and I can't say I was a huge fan but he has a bit more respect from me now.

Whatever people think about him, he's a smart business man. The guy is making money hand over fist. With all that cash he should be carrying a custom Emerson or at least send his Stubby to Phil to get it Ferrrked.

Personally, I'd like to see more celebrities who enjoy knives, guns, survival, and just the outdoors in general come out and let people know.

Those idiots are millionaires for programming a new aspect of the Internet, what have you done? That show is where they talk to guests and drink beer about random shit and questions from the cloud, I really don't think that saying they're idiots on a show for ENTERTAINMENT of nerds is a fair representation of them. I doubt the same would be said if they were just discussing the new implications for concurrent socket connections and what aspects they didn't like of Windows 7.

If I remember correctly, Nikon was using Ashton to promote their products some time ago.

Though Nikon hasn't been on top of its game (except for the D700, everything else, phasing out the SB 800 for the 900, the DSLRs with video, really?) anyways. Though not annoying enough to make me become a Canon shooter.

Then again, I know there are probably other idiots out there who probably carry nicer knives than I do, big deal.

I was referring to the hosts as half retarded because they don't know what they're talking about on this subject, but they're trying to sound as if they do. When it comes to talking about any particular topic one should be at least slightly educated on said topic. To spout off about bayonets attached to shotguns in an effort to relate to your guest is pretty dumb.

I don't know much about cars and when I'm hanging out with some buddies and they start talking about cars I just keep my mouth shut. I may say something along the lines of "I like the looks of that car", but then I clam up because I know nothing more on the topic. So these guys may be really smart when it comes to technology and things of that nature, but when it comes to guns, knives, or survival perhaps they should let the other guy talk, keep their mouths shut, and just nod their heads.
