I've lived in SC my whole life, definitely not CanadianI thought you were Canadian this whole time.
It’s because you are too nice.I've lived in SC my whole life, definitely not Canadian![]()
Glad to hear it! Was worried about you there for a bit.Glad you're okay, Josh, and thanks for reaching out. We got power back on last night, (we've been on generator).
Also got wireless back on last night as well. Now we start trying to get back to some sense of normalcy. Got a lot of trees down and several big ones leaning. Gonna take a long while to get all this stuff attended to...but grateful to have weathered the storm.
Ya Josh…..lol….what say you?Josh, how far out to you plan your builds? What’s on the drawing board for 2025? Any chance of designing/making a large camp knife like the Q but with a longer blade?
How many here are wanting a Q? maybe I should just go ahead and plan a batch so I can get the steel ordererdHey Josh, you planning on doing some Q’s for 2025? If so what steel are you thinking?
What steel would you use, and what are the dimensions, Josh? How many here are wanting a Q? maybe I should just go ahead and plan a batch so I can get the steel ordererd![]()
It's pretty much right at 10" OAL w/ a 4.8" blade. Was thinking probably magnacut, should be nice and tough for chopping/batonning.What steel would you use, and what are the dimensions, Josh?
Josh, would you consider Cru-Wear? (Just a thought.)It's pretty much right at 10" OAL w/ a 4.8" blade. Was thinking probably magnacut, should be nice and tough for chopping/batonning.
As far as I can tell Magnacut is a stainless version of cruwear/4v... the main benefit to cruwear as far as I can tell is if someone wants to DLC it (the DLC I use is too hot for magnacut)Josh, would you consider Cru-Wear? (Just a thought.)
I really like my Q and I’m sure you’ll sell as many as you make but personally I probably won’t get another one. I’m less of a collector and more of an accumulator that likes to use my knives or guns, even if it’s only occasionally. Because of that I only have a few duplicates, the Ember 2.5 being one of them. The Ember is different for me because I carry it practically everyday. Most of my knives get limited use when I go camping. BUT, if you made it with a larger blade…………..I would definitely would be in!How many here are wanting a Q? maybe I should just go ahead and plan a batch so I can get the steel ordererd![]()
yeah I'm definitely interested in hearing from others who would want to get in on one which steel type they would prefer... they would run $450.The Cru-Wear would be tougher for rougher usage...which "may" be advantageous in a knife intended for outdoors applications. (I love both steels, and can imagine 3V or AEBL being suitable as well.)
