At What Point is a Knife OVERPRICED?

A knife is overpriced when no one will buy it. Period. End of story.

No its not.

Is the margin of difference in quality between a Strider and a Griptilian enough to justify spending almost 400 more bucks, keeping in mind that new Grips can be had on Ebay at around 70 bucks? What will a Strider do so much better than a Grip won't?

I know what you're thinking, "well, what will a 50 dollar SOG Flash do that a Grip won't". Answer: it will last more than a year, the blade won't lose its edge in a matter of minutes, the automatic mechanism won't fail after a few months, the blade won't literally jingle in between the handle and if you spend 50 dollars more, versus 400, you won't need to buy another knife for about 10 years.

Logically Strider and similar shouldn't even be in business considering the value of Benchmade and Spyderco.

Just admit it; You buy a Strider because you have too much money and want Tacticool that isn't from China.

For me, a knife is overpriced when it costs a penny more than I'm willing to pay for it.

It's overpriced to me when, after looking it over and using it, I want to kick myself in the ass.

This is the right answer, right out of the gate. Price is what seller and buyer agree upon and nothing else matters.
