Sorry if asked before, have there been any discussions about the ATR ever coming back in the future, or were there sprint runs since discontinued status?

Not that I know of. But there should be. There was a thread on the spyderco forums where there was much interest in a sprint. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

I'd definitely be interested. Regret selling SS one that I had. Titanium model would be the ultimate.

There is a thread on British Blades where Sal said maybe:

"We brought it up with the maker.

sal"

Its on my short list. I'm going to pick one up, but if a Sprint run is possible maybe I'll wait for that!

It's fine if they don't bring back the ATR, as long as they do make a ti/g10, integral compression lock, para2 :)

I still have my ATR SpyderEdge SS from 2005. Would love to see the titanium show up again!

Some ATR pictures (first one is mine, last one is titanium):

I've never held one, but it seems to combine almost all my favorite attributes of all my favorite knives. Make it in a full flat grind and some hip super steel and it may be my ideal folder. Which means yes, I'd buy one.

i asked about the ATR on the spyderco meet in amsterdam 2014. sal said they were having issues making the handles thus most like not going to make ATR in the near future.

Pity. Doesn't make sense though. Lost art in making that handle with compression lock?!

The Mike Read PITS looks somewhat similar albeit with a different lock/joint mechanism but titanium handles.

I love the design. The lock is cool, but I'd even be up for one if it was a regular ol' liner lock.

Nice Error. Totally jealous. Hit me up if you ever part with those.

They could make a sprint run of the Ti PE version with a modern supersteel and I bet they'd sell out in a day.
