attention lurkers

Well Ive been a lurker for quite a while now and just started posting about a month or two back. I find that if I search the archives most of my questions get answered so I havent really had the need to post. My most recent knife purchase was a CRKT M16-03Z which is now my daily carry. My collection now consists of
CRKT- M16-03Z, Stiff KISS, Neck Peck
Buck- 110, Mentor
Gerber Multilock
A few Schrade Oldtimers
Cold Steel- Culloden, Gurkha Light Kukri, Shovel, Bad Axe
Well that about covers it. For now. Ask me this question after Christmas

I have received great advice, and hope that I have been able to assist others on this forum. This is only possible by taking part.
What all of us have to say is important, and adds to the richness of information that can be gathered from this site.
I enjoy my time spent here, and hope that all the members that have not yet gotten involved will do so soon. It is a great deal of fun.

Hello everyone. I am your classic lurker and have been reading these posts for several months. I have learned quite a bit about knives. My most recent purchase is a BM 705 which I carry everyday. Talk at you later.

JFServies, welcome to BladeForums.

Stick around and learn about knives with the rest of us. I remember lurking a lot at the Cold Steel forum (long gone, probably shut down because they were receiving negative comments about some of their products and their advertising technique) and at KnifeForums before Spark and Mike made BladeForums.

I lurked for about a month before I registerd. Since I registerd my addiction to knives went from about normal to needing medical help. I am a knifeaholic please help.

As soon as I came to BFC I signed on without even reading a single thread, I never even thought about just reading the info and not participating. I sure am glad that I didn't hesitate to be a part of bladeforums.com!!

I'm with BalisongMan. The first day I had internet access is the day I registered, without looking around first. I just figured that for knives this was the place to be, so I had to be signed up.

As for lurking, I haven't posted that much, but I haven't even been on the computer for a couple of months ( ooops ) so that has cut out seeing what has been going on.

But I am here for the moment and will always enjoy the info, pics, arguements, and bs that flys around.

For the B5 fans who may not know, the term lurker, used in B5, and in the great website for that show, Lurkers Guide to Babylon 5, lurker is a term that has a long history of use on the internet. It was probably first applied to the people in newsgroups who would read, but not post, same use as here.

JMS who wrote B5 purposely chose the term lurker to apply to his space station denizens who were not full fledged participants in its life from his experience on the internet and as an in joke.

Of course, the talk radio corollary is "long time listener, first time caller".

Phil, who while not technically a lurker is only a small time poster. I've been on BladeForums since day one of its existence.

Hello all-- I've been lurking for a year or two and learning lots of great knife info, and enjoying your company like a shy person at a party! Hope to post more in the future.
Latest acquisition: Bagwell Ontario Gambler. What a beautiful and fierce design! Next will be a Brdlik boot knife, and then a Spydie Chinook. EE

I actually have been posting. Nowhere near as much as the more knowledgeable people here, but I usually prefer to lurk for awhile and see how friendly everyone is. If the waters seem inviting, I wade on in. Needless to say, everyone here has been very nice. And your e-signatures are great. Sometimes, but not often, even better than the postings themselves. I will continue as I have been doing, learning and contributing.

I lurked for several months (since April), and registered a month ago. I don't post much as I'm still newbie although I learned really much these last few months. I read ALL faqs, and hundreds (thousands i bet) previous posts. I have saved all posts I read with Cache Explorer (very nice program to keep track of what I already read), archive is about 100 MB large right now!!

And, off course I started buying knives, a lots of them

I have been "lurking" for about six months and only recently began to post responses. I am very happy to see that there is a place for people interested in custom knives to communicate, without the internet I would rarely be able to get information on knives. Currently I own four Randy Lee knives,a CR umfaan, and a Joel Chamblin folder that I really enjoy.
Thanks, Steve

I am also wondering if anyone has any experience with Davis Goldberg's knives and swords. Any responses are appreciated.

Steve

Been here a few days so I'm not much of a lurker. My wife says I spend too much on guns so I switched back to knives!

I really found you all when I started researching a new 3.5/4" tactical folder. When I came here I had my mind set on what I wanted, after a couple of hours I had my short list down to about 12 pieces.

I knew I wanted another BM Axis since I've carried my BM705 (IMO, best small folder/tactical under $200) for over a year but I've been drooling like a horny dog for Al Mar's SERE 2K also. My new 710 will be here tomorrow and I'll get my SERE from another forumite Saturday or Monday.

I also have been doing customized knives, pistol grips and rifle stocks for about 7 years that'll be posted in the Exchange section for sale or trade. (the knives, not the guns) I like to take higher quality production pieces (mostly BM) and customize them.

If anyone has tips on working with Kydex please e-mail me, I have a couple of custom fixed blades I'd like to make sheaths for.

Great place and the people I've corresponded with via e-mail have been great too.
