We agree to do trade - his Strider SNG " in minty condition" and my LNIB CRK Sebenza 21. He send me a really bad pictures. I send him a very good pictures. We agree to ship at same day and we got it today - 05/16/11. I just got it, couple hours ago - he send me really used knife with many problem - missing screw ( replaced with regular screw from hardware store - different color and style), with some clear coat paint stain on G10, blade play, bad lockup. Also, he got my knife today and doesn't want to return, because, he saying - soon is he got, he sent it to another person!!!!! How we keep these people here, at nice Blade Forum? How we let them to scam us.

Amaizing, read the first post
"The SnG stonewash has a different color screw do to a factory flaw, but matching screw will be available ( Thanks for the good eye Chenn) I have not cut anything with any of these knives, not sure if they were used by prior owner." So he knew about screws, before even he bought knife!!!!!

Geez that sucks man, I hate people who do stupid crap like that... The guy should've made things right, so both parties are happy... Would you mind posting some pics for us?

Sorry to hear man. Nothing makes me more angry. Yeh- my stance is starting to change about this place too. It really is just like the real world- theres people on here that would jump off a bridge to save you- which is the type of person I am- but then there is a large % that wouldn't even piss on you on the side of the road if you were on fire. Human nature I suppose. Some apples are just riper then others. Make sure to post negative feedback and also check with your CC if you somehow paid that way via paypal. It really is worth it always to just buy whatever it is directly from the dealers or the blade co itself if possible and pay extra for it. That sucks though- I'm sure as hell you would rather have your Sebbie back- and its also a tragedy because there are a lot of good people on here that would do that trade just for boredom purposes-maybe wanting to see what the hoopla is all about re: one or the other. That should have been a pretty easy and fair trade-only if both people were playing fair. Hate to be this way myself-but- TRUST NO1!

Did you see difference in screws? No!!! because is very bad pictures. You can't tell difference. And look on my pictures - you can see wrong screw - differnt style original - torx and b;lack and this one - satin and hex. Look at G10 scale - paint stain and look at frame lock.

Yes you are right. One more thing. A ask him about condition and he said - Very nice knife, I like keep, but it not my style, I would lile to try Sebenza. And now, when I send him email, after I and him got knife couple hours ago, he said - he already send it to "new owner". This is 100% LIE!!!!

I would have requested a picture of the hidden side before concluding the deal.

You may be able to pick up another screw from Stryder - it shouldn't cost much including postage.

Getting ripped off sucks. Live and learn, I suppose.

Yes, I know this, now. But, you think honest person will tell you truth, before send youa junk.

This is clearly deception by the other trader--especially saying he then sent the CRK to someone else already! I'll be watching how the MODs handle this one...

This is part of his email: "I would not have a problem trading back your knife, However as soon as
i got it I checked it out and it was repackaged and sent to a new
owner."

A deal is not completed until both parties involved are completely satisfied. That is the way it works here. Email him a link to this thread and let's see what develops. It's a bad thing not to wait at least until you email and say you like the trade or not. You're a good guy to deal with yankee86, I've dealt with you before & our transaction went very smooth, good communication, and you did let me know you were happy.

Wow, that's some sketchy business going on their. I hope he'll be noble and honor the forum rules, which is to say, I hope he has whoever he sent YOUR Sebenza to send it back immediately so he can settle his deal with you. If not, he'll only be hurting himself and his rep. I've learned through watching other issues hash out here on BF that your rep is everything and all you have to do to mess it up is do something dishonest and sketchy like this.

How do people think they'll get away with things like this, as if the person isn't gonna inspect every mm of the knife when they get it, especially high-dollar knives such as these. Being up front about the screw and the blem on the G-10 and you then agreeing to the deal at that point is one thing but saying it's "minty fresh" when it's clearly not is just wrong.

I hope all is worked out smoothly.

Not really sure the moderators can really do anything to help the situation. If the knife was described as NIB mint and did not come as such then you are justified in having a dispute.
Pictures dont matter if the knife is described as new. I wouldnt get irate and start sending demanding emails. I would just ask nicely if he can try to get the sebenza back so you can
trade the knives back and see how it goes from there.

Simple solution. He needs to man up and get the Sebenza back from the other person, as he had NO right to trade/sell it until he knew you were happy with the trade. Anything else is unacceptable scumbaggery.

Yes, I did ask nicely and send couple emails. But here is situation:
He got package with Sebenza on May 16, around Noon and I got package with Strider on May 16, around 3pm.
Ans, here is message from “chenn” before we made trade:

“Knife is in excellent condition like new. Rock solid lock up no play! And very
smooth opening. Blade is centered. Almost having second thought about trading.
But I wanna try a sebenza. Pics will be sent after this email.”

And, here is email, 3 hours, after he got package:

“As for the sebenza, like i said i no longer have it as it was shipped
out as soon as I got it.”

You think is truth and he is honest person?

I send 2-3 email – no respond. I ask him to return knife or as a option- money ( if he don’t have a knife)

I even give him an option - to send money for his Strider, he bought JerzeeDevil.com, 5 days ago for $360.

Amaizing, read the first post. The knife in the middle.
"The SnG stonewash has a different color screw do to a factory flaw, but matching screw will be available ( Thanks for the good eye Chenn) I have not cut anything with any of these knives, not sure if they were used by prior owner." So he knew about screws, before even he bought knife!!!!!

Strange coincidence.

I'm interested to see what happens here.

Seems like a clear cut case, but he has not come to defend or concede to the allegations as of yet.

If this is the case the knife could still be considered mint so long as it was not used by "prior owner". Factory errors are still mint knives. Some one purchased them from the company as new and received a knife with a flaw. All that needs to be done in these cases is contact the company and they will make it right.

No, this is not " factory flaw". The screw totally different from other screws - not only color - style - not torx, it's hex and size - it's not even hold knife together right - G10 and frame not tight.

This then, although it does seem like he was misinformed by they guy he purchased it from, but I can't say on this because I don't know the emails that were exchanged between the two.
