Uncle Bill just confirmed he can make it. He is bringing some chicken, wrapped in bacon and marinated in his own secret blend of herbs and spices, for the grill.

Hi John -

I am bringing a friend from work who is interested in knives. We will be riding up on the motorcycles. His name is Kirill, and he will bring something but I am not sure what he said he would be making.

best regards -

Excellent! The more the merrier! I edited the first post to include Uncle Bill and Kirill.

Oh... It's On!

Let's add one more to the mix........in addition to the illustrious Uncle Bill, I will also be bringing another friend, Ryan, to sample some of the JK kool-aid. Ryan is a great guy, carpenter by trade, who recently took an old Woodings & Verona boy's axe bit I had kicking around the garage and hafted it on a full-sized hickory handle that he made. The handle is beautiful and has a very different butt, similar to a "fawn's foot" and very unique. He wasn't a knife guy really until he met me. I let him use my Keppy in the backyard and showed him how to make a feather stick and use the JK firesteel to ignite it. He thought it was so cool, so I gave him a couple of cheapy pocket knives and a firesteel of his own. I think he might be ready for a "real" knife in the near future.

Great, I`ll add him to the list! The Boss will be baking cookies Thursday before she takes off for southern Illinois. Her, Becky, Dave, Hayley, Hanna, Angie, Jon and Emily are going to the Du Quoin Fair and visiting family down there. I`m going to ask my other son in law if he wants to join us Saturday.

When you guys get together, try to get a consensus on an October Saturday for our MI Fall Gathering.

Jeff

I`m going to start cleaning the shop tomorrow. It needs it, don`t want anyone to get lost in the "dust bunnies!"
