Hey All,
As usual, "The Gathering" was excellent! Thank you again John for hosting! You know I always enjoy myself when I can get down your way any time but for a Gathering, that just makes it that much better! We couldn't have asked for a better day, if we had have tried really hard! I had a great time, and really enjoyed meeting the two newest additions to the JK Crew, Kirill and Jeff! The food was excellent as usual, the beers were great, and there is just no better company in the world!
Picked up a very nice Shrade that I didn't have in my knife collection before, and added three new books to my book collection, and all were about as reasonably priced as you can get! That just seems to be John's way with everything! All you guys that haven't gotten down here for a Gathering or to meet and spend some time with John for one, and the rest of us for the other, just don't know what you are missing! (No conceit in my family, I got it all! Ha! Ha!) Just to drive down and spend a few hours with John is always fun but, to make it to one of the greatest events (The Gatherings) in the world, ranks up there with the greatest Mountain Men's Rendezvous' ever held!
Can hardly wait for the next "Gathering" in October! jds1, please get us some information out as soon as you can on the cabin and price on it! The cost is my main factor right now on this! I need to know what my share would be for the cabin! That will be the deciding factor on whether I can make it or not! I just don't have a lot of extra money laying around now days, and I know those kinds of things are usually pretty expensive!
John, I didn't think to talk to you and Andy both about this at the time but, you know how it is, you always think about these things more after the fact! If I do get to make the October thing, and everything is well with my back, and I can afford to go! John would it be possible for me to drive down to your house and leave my truck there for the time that we are gone, and Andy, can I ride with you and John the rest of the way, and share the gas money, so I don't have to do as much driving! About two hours in that truck of driving myself is about my limit right now, and it doesn't seem to be getting much better there! So that would save me from having to stop a few places along the way and recuperate, before I could make it another leg of the journey! Andy, I think you told me, that it was about three hours from your house right? Might have to make a stop in between just to stretch out my legs and back muscles, if that is alright with you! That way I don't have to drive all that way by myself either! Just let me know! Both of you guys know how to PM me!
