Finally decided to chime in. I have no intention of reading the whole thread, but I'll post, anyway.

Put me down for 3, 'cause I usually have either 3 or 4, but one is a $4 el-cheapo for high-risk stuff (prying on stuff, etc.), and I don't like to count that.

Briefly going through, I got an verage of 2.614, weighting based on my judgement somewhat when people weren't clear (or whne they gave percentages), and counting each multi-tool as half a knife. That's based on 81 replies, including my own (and yes, I counted double-posts only once). Not too chabby, but lower than I would expect.

How long does it take for some of you who carry multiple knives that vary from day to day, mood to mood, etc? to choose which knives to carry?

I pretty much carry the same ones each day.
