Axe, Tomahawk & Hatchet Photo Thread

That turned out great! How was the bit? Super hard?

I had to break out a new file to get any cut on it, and what normally takes 30 minutes took over an hour. Polishing the edge ate up a bunch of emery cloth and buffing with black cutting compound took almost a half hour, when generally it only takes a few swipes across the hard wheel. Yes, it is super hard. I can't wait to get it down to the cabin and use it.

Hello my name is Kim and this is my first post here. I'll show some of my axes. I have many.
The top one I made to my wife, the middle one is my daily. And the bottom one is my last project.

Got one of these right when they came out.

Cold Steel viking hand axe, which I mounted on a shorter hickory hawk handle finished with Tung oil. Deer skin grip with a couple turks heads knots

The blade came pretty dull but has gotten to a almost hair popping edge with a little elbow grease.

Here's a Collins double bit and carpenter hatchet (garage sale finds) I just got finished hanging for a friend, stained both handles to match. They were rusted pretty badly but cleaned up great with the wire wheel on my bench grinder.
