So, I just got done writing a program to calculate e^x using n!
Is that interesting enough to start a conversation over?

It surprises mt how many people lurk here without offering or claiming anything. I guess everyone's waiting for the next Tuff :adjoint:

That's how it seems. I have offered everything I'm able without dipping into kit I use regularly. I have a couple more things, but I can't ship much atm.

Not getting a lot of takers, but the CAMCO sheepfoot is still up for grabs., and an SAK Classic to anyone who wants one...

I would be happy to take a SAK off your hands

The last couple of days I have been shopping REI, Cabelas, Sportsmans, and building emergency GO bags for Mom, sister, Mother-in-law since they don't have a clue how to gear up. They are pretty extensive with a nice fixed blade in each, firemaking, water filters, MREs, Quickclot and first aid, thermal blankets, mess kits, but after all that effort...

likely the only thing they will remember to use is the nail file on the SAK! LOL, thanks for making me think of it!

(Thanks-I left my email on your visitor messages.)

Yea I think most people gave what they had to give pretty quickly, There was so much going on Im surprised it lasted this long really. But its slowing down some. which is a good thing. We also lost some of the people only taking and not giving back, and i cant argue with that :)

Just sharing the picture, love my new drop point RMD and love to share her off LMAO

InSpectre Gadget - Schrade 77OT - I'll take it.
I have been considering trying to get into slip joints again and this one holds my interest.
Email incoming.

I have a couple of things I will put up soon, in the middle of a move, moving in Thursday, so once I get my stuff out of storage, that will allow me to give even more.

I've been lurking since the first thread.

You got it. Is the moving going to get in the way of shipping?

Address sent, thanks for the generosity.
Will likely be giving up a Leatherman here in the near future.
As much as I love Leatherman's, it just doesn't get the use I wish it did.

Even if it does slow down, there's no reason it can't remain an open thread for people willing to participate.

I've been lurking for the last couple of days. I won't be able to pay anything forward til next week. I got a crazy schedule this week and then am going backpacking in Arkansas for a few days. No way to get to the post office til then. Hopefully, this is still going on. That's the reason I haven't tried claiming anything just yet. The generosity of the forum members has been very inspirational though. Earlier tonight I gave a buddy a Gerber fixed blade and a Enlan El02B that I didn't really use anymore. He was pretty surprised and very grateful.

Hey - I'm an artist and I do some wood carving. I usually use my opinel or mora or SAK tinker, but I'm wondering if anyone could recommend a good 3-4 carbon blade whittler or carvers congress that's reasonably priced. All the ones I've been seeing are out of my paltry price range.

I don't think people hanging out are looking for a tuff lol (didnt knoa what it was then and im still not sure now, just gathered that its expensive. I just enjoy the conversation. The slow Down is two parts:

People are running low on stuff to give

People who took a bit have pretty much filled their needs.

I got a few good items that for lack of better terms have "filled my needs" gloves, sapien, ect.. I'm not likely to be claiming much more unless its something that I dont have like a decent multi tool ( think a few people are ahead of me in line for one though)

Even if it has slowed down, the conversation is good and it should remain open

Its not that bad a thing because before it was kinda impossible to keep up with. Plus I've seen some new people dropping in that weren't here before In the big rush and thats a good thing. Means its still alive :)

I'm glad that it blew up So fast in the beginning because that means that a lot of people got their needs filled.

Also we should remind people that items posted don't have to be knife related. You can post anything you want and you never know how much someone might appreciate it!

Opinel Mora and sak are pretty much the tools that I would chose too lol

Yeah stv, I agree about people filling their needs. Alot of you guys we're Santa-esque in your generosity. My knife "needs" are pretty limited at the moment. My fiance would definitely balk at me if she heard me saying I needed ANY more knives. Really the only thing I can't resist are old Imperial Barlows with advertisements on the side. My grandpa carried one as a kid and I kinda started collecting them as he passed. I probably have a dozen or so I've picked up at flea markets and junk stores. It's funny, I have a lot of very nice knives but these are my favorite part of my collection.

This thread has made me convince myself I need to get a Becker for backpacking/camping though. Looking at them I can tell it'll be a hard decision on which one. Some people in the another thread advised a bk16, as it should suit my overall needs best. However, I think I might go pick up a T.A. Davison fixed blade at a local shop tomorrow afternoon to take along on my hike this weekend.

Yea, I have a weak spot for SAKs lol. I just wanna snap em up and give one to everyone I know lol!

16 Is a fine knife and just that, a good ole drop point hinter. Ethan's favorite design actually..

Get a 9 ;)

I would be foolish to believe I will stop at one if everything I hear about them is true. Most likely after the first on, I'll be back in here soliciting more advice on which one will be next. Luckily, my folks, aunts, fiance and friends all backpack with me but don't know the first thing about knives or other gear. The all go to me for information on everything from tents to sleeping bags and everything in between. In the past I have paid my share of the gas money with gently used gear and will probably do this again.

I'd like to pass on my Izula II but I can't afford another small fixed EDC right now. :/ Can't give up things I use daily.
