B13

I was just showing variants that could come out of getting this one design made as a way to show people how sweet it can be so more people would help join in to get this done. With the original design blank the options open up simply because that is the most practical way to do it from a manufacturing standpoint.
Start with a shape like this:

and all of those other variants become a possibility. Without it or something very similar, none of them are. Let's get this made, then if you want to modify it yourself or have the custom shop do it as some other variant, you are more than welcome to go for it. We need the original design to make it to production first and foremost!

Bring the Bolo13! :D

This this this. X13. :D

This is my slightly modified B4. It is lonely. It needs a honking big 13usse 13asic 13lade to partner up with. Don't let my B4 suffer - bring on the B13!

Pffffft. Whatever dude. Let the haters hate. As long as you're not against us, IMHO, you're with us. Carry on.

Been distracted by pretty snakeskin and long drives the last few days, I'm sure I missed the pricing and order info from Jerry... anyone care to fill me in? :D

Ten million dollars. When sharks swim around with friggin lazerbeams attached to their heads.

That's what I was told.

Good! I only have to gather $9,999,999. The shark thing already happened, I saw it on tv. It was on a spy documentary. Part of a series entitled "Austen Powers"

You're right, just drunk when I said this. Basically what I have to say is that my previous reasoning for not going Bolo and instead the criteria I mentioned…. you really would not be losing much if any utility value IMO by making more of a fighter design. This may be a point of contention that I am sure many will disagree with, but in my mind a Bolo is only really a Bolo if it's run at machete thickness (WELL below 3/16", more like 1/8")…. which lets be real will NEVER be made in significant quantity out of INFI steel.

Making it extremely thin turns this in to a pipe dream, I think. Whether or not it would be awesome, I just don't think Jerry would go for it.

Again, I think we've pretty much settled on general specs.

Jerry will never make a blade this large in such a thin stock (1/8" or less), I don't see how he could warranty it without it costing a small fortune per blade. What are the settle specs again, by chance?

Basically, this stuff Tim said:

For refresher, the Bolo13 is all about the 13's with simply logical specifications for the masses:

13/64" = ~.20" MAXIMUM thickness coated, satin could be closer to .187" with coating/dimples/decarb gone. ;)

13 13/16" = ~13.8" blade length is a little longer than a 1311 with the recurve to lighten it a tad and increase chopping sweet spot maximization as well as scythe work.

Bolo shape sans choil for maximum brush clearing ability with no snags for function over very good form. A choil can always be added, but not removed and choking up on a near 14" blade might be a clue to pull out your edc already anyhow. ;)

Normal basic res-c handle preferred unless a bigger version is available, would prefer to see his actually made soon instead of an extended "two week" wait.

We are just trying to acquire the most useful lightweight, high performance chopper that can easily double for machete-like tasks without actually being a too thin to hold up to hard use. Simple, practical, tough and awesome! Kinda like this:

I'm back! Gave my 1311 a good workout for the last few days. Every time I swing my 1311, it makes me want a B13 even more.

Back to the conversation.

I want a chopper. Not a weapon. I have weapons that act as weapons. I don't need to turn every object I own into a killing machine. I actually use my knives. If I bought a knife for the purpose of killing people, it wouldn't get used. If I buy a knife for chopping through brush and busting up some logs, it will get used. Oh and IF I for some reason needed to defend my life with a Bolo13, I'm sure it would work perfectly fine. I don't see that changing the profile or grind would really dampen my ability to cut someone. But then again I'm not a finely tuned killing machine.

BRING ON THE 13olo 13!
