I'm back! Gave my 1311 a good workout for the last few days. Every time I swing my 1311, it makes me want a B13 even more.
Back to the conversation.
I want a chopper. Not a weapon. I have weapons that act as weapons. I don't need to turn every object I own into a killing machine. I actually use my knives. If I bought a knife for the purpose of killing people, it wouldn't get used. If I buy a knife for chopping through brush and busting up some logs, it will get used. Oh and IF I for some reason needed to defend my life with a Bolo13, I'm sure it would work perfectly fine. I don't see that changing the profile or grind would really dampen my ability to cut someone. But then again I'm not a finely tuned killing machine.
BRING ON THE 13olo 13!

This sounds very personal my friend . a few thoughts.
You can use a sledgehammer as a weapon, that doesn't make it a good weapon. You can use anything as a weapon for that matter, my point in saying that a knife designed as a weapon first can still work great for all those tasks you mentioned.
We need:

Bolo
1NFI
3teen
That looks like this:

Once we have a

we can mod it into whatever we want, especially if we are good at regrinds and resharpening!

What are your thoughts about having a full tang (light brigade treatment) handle with res-c slabs, so the tang is exposed around the edges and maybe extruding a bit out the back of the pommel so you can hit it with a baton or hammer? Would it provide less shock absorption? Would the trade off be worth it?
But we aren't talking sledgehammers. We are talking knives. Compromising ANYTHING that would make this the ultimate Res-C chopper in favor of a weapon seems silly. You can use a sledgehammer as a weapon, that doesn't make it a good weapon.
I think we can all safely say this is not news. It's just not relevant. I'm not sure what point you are trying to make here. Maybe saying that I don't know that knives have been made as weapons AND utility purposes? Moving along. This is coming from somebody who recognizes that knives have in fact been designed, built and used as weapons for centuries .along with being used for utility purposes when needed.
Now that's just ridiculous. So because I live in California, I'm against weapons? I probably own more firearms that you do and to be clear, I don't consider them all weapons. They are tools. I call my home defense guns, weapons. And Californias gun laws aren't quite as liberal as you might think. AND don't judge us gun owners in Cali poorly just because we are outnumbered here. Most of us spend more money fighting gun restrictions and more time writing to our representatives that you probably do.I guess since Cali has so many great laws to protect it's 'sheeple' you really don't need any weapons though, anyways .![]()
Okay, the Battle ASH was just announced as being released this Thursday, so let me give this thread a little Bumperooskie to help Y'all out.![]()
