Back by Popular Demand... What folder do you guys carry?

Casino! Looking back through this thread it seems as though both are new! You are a high roller aparently!

Yes Riz! they're both new to my folder EDC roster. I'm the same schmuck who was scoffing at gentlemen folder and peep spending over $300 on folders and such. The same fool who had muttered in the past that I would never spend $200+ on a folder. Remember that maroon? :D

The Sebenza was NIB and the Mili-Ti LNIB, both purchased from forum members. The Mili-Ti was fondled previously but the Sebenza 25 never was.

The Mili-Ti is a tad too big but that's what I like about it. The Sebenza 25 fits me like a glove and feels more natural. I find the 25 more sure footed (or is it sure handed?!) Both are stiff and need to be broken in quite a bit. The handle scales on the Sebenza feel more solid although the Mili-Ti weight a bit more at 5.9 ounces vs the Sebenza 25 at 5 ounces. Ultimately, I'm a flicker and flicking a Sebenza is a no-no! I will have to get used to Spyderco's RIL and develop more confidence in it because as compared to the RIL on the CRK Sebenza, it doesn't feel as rock solid.

For the house: Benchmade 4300-1 CLA in 154CM. Purchased new this week and is untested. I'm disappointed the metal isn't at least S30V but it was too sharp to turn away.

For work: Benchmade 581 Barrage in M390. Used for three years and only sharpened once every 6 months. I do not touch it up between sharpening sessions. Has cut well on 3M electrical tape, foil backed tape, and fiberglass tape that used to chew up my cheap knives. Not to mention the occasional wire stripping. As you can tell it needs a little cleaning, it's not abused but it's no safe queen.

Not your natural habitat sir, I'll send you my address post haste. [emoji16]

CRK's are really something, I had a large Insingo but it was very right handed so I let it go.

I really think the Enzo Birk and Borka folders rival anything I've had my mitts on in execution. Their grind lines, lockup, fit and finish are amazing. I definitely recommend the G10 or micarta versions though, the birch and carbon fiber are rather square in the contours. I want to reprofile and stain the birch handles of one I have, birch apparently isn't receptive to most stains or dyes.

Its funny because i always thought the Military would be too big. Then once I started carrying it the damn thing really grew on me. I had a 25 and sold it to fund an S!K preorder a while back. I havent had any issues with the lock, but I understand why a side by side comparison would make you feel that way. The ceramic ball in a 25 elimates that double click feel of a liner lock and really smoothes out the opening and closing of the knife. I was never able to flick my 25 without a wrist assist. My Mil wont flick easily either, but I have about 50/50 success when I try the middle finger spyderflick. I dont flick my knoves open and havent found a flipper I really like yet so it doesnt really matter anyway. I am curious to hear your thoughts after a few months.

These two beauties will be sh*t scared to live in that hillbilly neighborhood of yours. They're just a couple of entitled So. Cal type bells ;)

I will try to get them broken in without d*cking around with anything factory wise and report back. I also agree with your observations and assessment of their nuanced differences. If I use the thumb (I'm a righty) to flick, I need wrist action because it is still stiff and my thumb isn't that long. I can't flick open at all using the index but I think this has more to do with where I hold the knife on the other side and the pressure I'm actually exerting on the lock itself! Middle finger flick is also 50/50 on thios without wrist action but my middle finger action toward Grogie works 100% of the time. I just can't figure out as to why so easy toward him? :D

My top-3 in terms of carry time. I can't live without these...

PM2 - perfection!

Techno - I never understood it until I stared using one, for a small EDC folder the ergos are superb but it looks crazy

Bantam - perfect little office knife that doesn't scare many but get the jobs done

I love my fixed blade knives, I give no fudge about my folders. I expect them to cut and shut up. This Boker USA folder has been great, the 154CM isn't the strongest but damn it is stupid sharp.

That is one POed Morrel.

I got away from carrying any of my folders a couple of years ago and started carrying fixed blades only as they are far stronger and more capable. Recently I have reverted back to giving some of my folders a little love. Today I have my Victornox Spirit Plus Ratchet on my belt (always carry a multitool), my Three Sisters Forge Gorgon in my right pocket, and my Carter neck knife around my neck. I do not feel under-knifed in the least because I keep a W. A. Surls Bison in an RLO sheath in the door of my car in case I need to baton anything to survive on my way to/from work.

I still can't decide, he's almost come to life so I'd better settle on something soon.

Kershawguy has a limited edition ZT 0452 with an M390 blade, still having to resist buying that beauty. I've ditched all of my higher end folders but that one makes me think about reconsidering.

That's the one that makes me sit up and take notice. If you spring for it, pics and thoughts please bud.
