Back pocket carry?

How many of you carry a pocket knife in your back pocket? Is it comfortable? Does it hurt the knife by sitting and stuff? Is it better if its a large knife like a Kershaw Storm II to carry in the back pocket or is it a weight issue? Just thinking about doing it and was wondering. Thanks

Not comfortable. In fact, I don't like anything in my back pockets. Uncomfortable for my precious booty.

I never have cause I'm right handed and my wallet goes in my right rear pocket. I feel like the knife is more accessible in the front...and I can keep an eye on it, so I feel like I won't lose it as easily. It could fall out of a rear pocket and I wouldn't even know it...

Bottom line is this: Put your knife in your back pocket. If you like it, great, if you don't, great. Don't do it or not just cause we do!

I carried my SS Endura in my back pocket the other day because the jeans I had on the area of the pocket was chewed away and it would slide up and down.

I used to carry in my right back pocket all the time until the tactical pocket clip bug bit me. Most of the time I didn't even notice the knife was in my back pocket. Now that I am getting back into the traditional folders I am trying back pocket carry again. I hardly notice the SAK Farmer or Opinel #6 when I sit on it at work for nearly 8 hours a day.

I carry my super cqc7 in my back pocket. I also use a large "biker" wallet. Actually barely noticed this way. Goes like this: my a$$, wallet, knife, pocket.

The only knife I'm comfortable carrying in my rear pocket is a stainless steel cara cara, I'm scared my fat ass would crush my other knives that don't have as hard handle material lol.

I carry a larger folder clipped in my front pocket and then i carry a boker subcom in my back right pocket.I cant even tell it is there.

I always carry my primary EDC on my front right pocket and a back-up on my right rear pocket, either a Kershaw Leek, or a Kershaw Junk Yard Dog. I've never had a problem with any of my back-ups being uncomfortable riding on my back pocket, whether wearing jeans, or slacks. Never any weight issues either; my wallet weighs more than my knives. IMHO the only thing to watch out for while carrying on your back pocket, is to make sure that your pocket clip doesn't easily snag on chairs, sofas, etc., as it could pull your knife off of your pocket when you get up. I've had it happen with both a Mini Cyclone, and a Junk Yard Dog.

Good luck.

I have carried a folder in my right back pocket for years. Right now I am toting a yellow Pacific Salt in my back pocket. I feel nekkid without it.

Great!!! Thanks guys. The reason I am asking this is because I dont like knives with out clips to sit in my front pocket because of it turning sideways. So if I carry in my back pocket then there will not be a clip on the knife. I have an Old Gerber pocket knife that I love but It doesnt have a pocket clip so I never carry it. I think Im gonna try to carry it in my back pocket today.

I carry my knife clipped to my right back pocket, against the seam. It's actually really comfortable for me as long as the knife is fairly narrow. If it's narrow I don't quite sit on it, although it could be that I just have a skinny ass.

I always carry a Victorinox Rally(The same as a Classic, but with a bottle opener/wire stripper/screwdriver combo tool instead of the scissors) in my back pocket, never had any problems, it' s actually so small I don' t even feel it.

I carry my slipjoint (Large Stockman) in my back pocket. It is much easier to get to when I need it than trying to dig it out of my front pocket. I have yet to lose a knife out of my back pocket, but I can see the argument about the front pocket being more secure.

I used to keep my clipless BM42 in my back pocket, using my wallet to keep it upright and in place.

I have tried the back pocket. But I am unable to reach the EDC, with my other hand. So I move it back to the front of the pocket, where it can be reached with both hands.

I carry smaller knives in my right back pocket. For one thing, the pocket's rarely used for anything else. The knife seems secure there. It's much slower to chew up my pants than using the clip. It can be uncomfortable, say, on a long drive, but mostly it's fine. A pet peeve is having too many articles in one pocket–I like to have a dedicated place. The back pocket's not perfect, but it's not bad. A flatter knife is certainly best. I've been carrying my Salt 1 in my back pocket for a couple of weeks, and it's about ideal as a back pocket knife. It's more comfortable to remove the clip when carrying this way, though I don't always bother.

No back pocket carry for me. Uncomfortable. Thin wallet on right side and folded up hanky on the left to even out the buttocks. Knife is usually on belt sheath or right front cargo pocket.
