Back pocket carry?

I have always carried every knife in my right rear pocket (I'm right handed). When I can I flip the clip to the presentation side so the opening side of the blade is against the seam of the pocket. Works perfect for waved and zip tied knives too. The only knife I have been unable to carry in my back pocket was my Spyderco Nilakka, due to its sheer girth. Back pocket carry has made me pay more attention to clips though, particularly the tips of them. Tips of clips that finish parallel to the knife are my favorite, because they cause less wear/damage to my car's leather seats.

I really wish spyderco would use the wire clip on all knives for this reason. The spoon clip isn't particularly rough on upholstery or anything, but the wire clip leaves no mark at all.

To the OP - find a model you think would work for your carry needs, and try it.

Back in high school, I traded for a U.S. Schrade LB7 lockback. I carried it upright in my pocket next to my wallet; due to my rather slight gluteus maximus (not so much today, though) my wallet held it upright just fine.

Later I traded the LB-7 for a Case #6265 folding Hunter, and it works just as well, upright next to my wallet.

The only problem is that I ended up wearing a hole in the bottom of the pocket that my knife could fall through. I have a list of accessories I need to get, and a rear-pocket sheath is one. I'd love to have the option if carrying one of my old traditionals like that again.

I'm thin and bony so I don't like anything in my back pocket ( I used to carry my wallet in my hack pocket but actually creased and messed up my ID )

Neva eva. I NEVER use my back pockets. uncomfortable to sit on, too easy to pick pocket.

OP hasn't logged in for over 6 years, so I bet he has this figured out by now.

Aw, damn. I'm usually pretty good about catching these zombie threads. Oh, well. Interesting conversation anyway.

I keep an Emerson in my rear left pocket every single day, solely for the use of it's wave feature.

The only other knife i'd keep in my back pocket would be the Spyderco Military. Sold mine a few years back, took a break from blades and now I want another one.

If I have my G43 in my front pocket I'll keep my knife in my right back pocket. Otherwise it's always in my front right pocket.

Victorinox Secretary, you wont feel a thing. Always in my backpocket.

If I'm wearing dress pants, I always clip it to the outer side of my butt. I never feel a thing and I have a pretty big booty. It just goes to the side when you sit down. Maybe because I carry small knives.

I carry all my knives in back left pocket. Easy to get to and never have a feeling as I might lose a knife.

I carry a full size Case Trapper in my right back pocket along side my wallet. It just seams easier to access than the front pocket and with it next to my wallet, it doesn't turn sideways in my pocket.

Although technically It's back pocket carry, it almost doesn't count. Right front pocket reserved for more dangerous item. With more traditional pockets I wouldn't carry it that way.
