Back to the 2016 Forum Knife: The punch!

How does one get in on this knife? I'm a sucker for a punch (sucker punch, lol). My first case knife was a stockman with a punch.

all you have to do is follow the threads and when the purchase thread shows up, follow the instructions to order and pay for your new knife.
the tough part is then waiting for them to be made, because this is a pre-production order and can take a few months between ordering and receiving.

You also need to make sure that you have the reserves to make that preorder, since at least last year it sold out pretty fast.

I wasn't sure which topic to post this in. But I came across this photo today when looking for another pattern and I thought it may be of interest.

It even has GEC's acorn shield ;)

Gotta wonder how many knives you'd get for that $21.50. I imagine it's a deal that would cause any knut in 2016 to scream "Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!"

The only thing I have even approximating a punch on a Remington is the screwdriver on the 4-blade upland knife, not even worth photographing for the purposes of this thread. I really do hope Charlie is thinking about that old, narrow Case-style wedge punch, because I find its younger cousin to be eminently useful and occasionally I catch myself wishing my big #75 had one instead of a spey.

I'm assuming a difference between this punch and the rounded-on-one-side punch we see on a lot of knives, like this Master Quality:

I like it. Getting one, however it ends up, but this one looks useful for MY purposes. I use the punch/reamer on my "USMC" knife and Swisstool for a cocktail toothpick, for picking up snacky things like grapes, cheese cubes, l'il smokies, etc. Or, in a pinch, scraping battery terminals.

Exactly what came to mind when I saw Charlie's knife. And ditto. :D

Case's "wedge" punch, on the 6318PU (the blades are CV yet the punch is SS):

On further review, the new Case punch is a teeeeensy bit wider at the base, it seems.

That punch is wider, but very similar to what I propose!!
Looks like Case learns from history also!!:D
Is that current production, TsarBomba?

Current-ish? IIRC the knife is a 2014, though I'd have to check the box at home to be certain. It doesn't seem too difficult to find, I had obtained this one within about a week of starting to look for a 6318PU (the CV blades closed the deal for me). I believe this is exactly the punch Case would use on any of its modern #18 stockmen.
