BAD deal with scfishr

Here's the story: I bought a knife from scfishr, the knife wasn't for me so I asked if he'd take it back, I even offered to cover any shipping/PayPal costs he'd already paid.

He ignores me for about a week so. Figuring he wasn't going to reply to me, I put the knife on Ebay. After he sees it on Ebay and thinks it will get sold he replies to my e-mail and says it's cool if I send it back to him, but he didn't have the money I gave him anymore and he tells me to get back to him in a week and he'd gladly take it back. If he would have said no in the first place, none of this would have happened.

The reserve wasn't met on the Ebay auction so the next week I contact him again and he says I screwed up the Ebay auction with a bad description and he won't take it back.

I can't post attachments or I could attach all of the e-mails he sent me. If you are interested in reading these e-mails, contact me and I will gladly forward them to you.

So basically, his word means nothing, be careful when dealing with him.

Im not so sure about this one...Droc217 when you state the the "knife wasnt for me" what does that mean? If I ship a knife to someone and they are unhappy with the description, damage, Lockup I would gladly refund thier money. But If you just dont like the knife I would say too bad ....I feel that scfshr acted honestly and honerably by telling you that he no longer had the money but in a week he would and would refund your money. If he saw the Ebay auction did it have pictures. your details of the description are murkey..why did scfshr not take the knife back after the auction. Did you use the knife? anyway bottom line if there was something wrong with the knife I would say prompt refund. If you just dont like the knife...thats a different story..

I've dealt with scfishr a few times, and never once had a problem. I would like to hear his side.

Pete

I agree with Ren.

I also don't understand where a seller is required to refund the money because the knife wasn't for you. If you complete a transaction and there isn't anything wrong with the knife. . . that's not the sellers problem.

He actually told you this. . . .or are you assuming this is what took place ?

Amazing and

First, bad on him to telling you that he'd take it back, etc., etc., etc.

Second, it looks like to you were playing both ends in an attempt to get your money back. :(

You don't have to post them as attachments. The basic "cut & paste" function allows to post them here.

I would be very curious to the other side of the story. . . .

Just did a deal with scfisher, he was honest with his discription and would deal with him in the future......no problems here.

The point was that he told me he would take it back, then went back on his word.

I agree, he didn't have to agree to take it back in the first place, but he did, then he didn't own up to what he said he'd do.

I think your splitting hairs...and like Gig said..your playing both sides of the fence...

Scfshr is in my book a honerable person, you need to suck it up...you dont like a knife..

I was not going to even answer this,

But, in the interest of others I have dealt with and those I will deal with in the future:

I was on an outage, I work at a paper mill, 14 1/2 hrs a day, this was explained to him for being the reason for 4 days going by without a reply to his email.

After responding to his email where he stated that " the knife was much nicer than the description", would I refund his money?

I informed him that the knifge had been sold to raise money for an attorney, The reas on the knife was sold was because I had been served with divorce papers.

I told him that at my next check(10 days) that I would refund his money.

Then, that night I log on to ebay only to find this awsome piece listed on ebay as "shiny". Usually this knife would go for around $400- $425

I could not believe he described this combat grade knife as shiny.

Any way last time I looked the bid was $ 335 with a day left.

I never checked back. A week later I get an email from this guy wanting a refund again.

I told him, that the last I saw it was on ebay and thought it had sold, he evidently had a reserve that was not met.

I explained carefully that just that morning I had to bail my kid out of jail and pay to get his car fixed and my funds were tapped,

He then starts the holier than thou routine that is being posted here

This is probably my last post regarding this issue

This guy bought a knife that would cost $510 if you ordered it, for $375.00,it had been restored to near perfection.

1st it was" too nice", now its just not for him

If you lay with dogs, do you have the right to complain about flee`s? :barf:

Thanks to all who have responded,

Ren, is this one of your ooompa loompa`s on the loose again?

Any way I`m on vacation this week so I could spend some time with my kids. We`re not going any where(funds) but spending quality time together, this is not my idea of quality time

I will check back on this issue next week to see what the outcome is, but for now
I`M ON VACATION

I don't see how I'm splitting hairs, he didn't do what he said he would do. I don't see how it goes any further than that.

here are all correspondence I made with him save the final one, these are from his replies to my emails (my e-mails are red, his are green)

And then you listed it on ebay, I had no reason to think that you still had it

(so at this point he admits that since he thought it was already sold on Ebay, he agreed to take it back, thinking I couldn't send it back since it was already gone)

You have ruined the chance to sell this knife when you lited it with a very poor description, the people who buy on ebay are the same ones that buy on the forum. Please do not contact me on this matter again, enjoy your knife thanks, Michael

I will put my reputation on the forum up against your bullshit any day of the week, Go right ahead

(I don't see how I'm bullshiting him)

All of you that say you have had good deailngs with him in the past, I'm assuming you bought or sold, money exchanged and goods were recieved and it went no further than that. All I'm saying is anyone who deals with him in the future, make sure you know what you are getting into if you are dissatisfied.

I thought a deal wasn't supposed to be over until noth parties were happy?

My point is that he could have said too bad, but he didn't.

If you told someone you would do something, you would do it right?

That is all I'm trying to get across.

To droc,

List this knife on the forum, like I did for the same 375.00 that you paid,

if it does not sell by my next check(11 days) I will, after you return it in the same condition as shipped,

it was sent wrapped in cloth out of the teklok sheath to preserve the awsome satin finish. if it has been scratched or blemished aside from the condition sent,

You stated in your ebay description that it had sheath marks, it did not have sheath marks when it was sent to you.

I will deduct for any damage.

Also, please state whether the knife was misrepresented in any way and did you or did you not state that the knife was much nicer than you thought it would be? I would have never sold this knife if not for being served with divorce papers.

I will refund your money on the same terms originally suggested by you.

If you do not list it for sale

There were two marks parralel to the edge on each side about 7 inches long and 2mm thick, just above the blade when I unrapped it. I don't know if they were from the sheath, but they were present and were the first things I saw when I took it out from the cloths.

Also, I do not have a gold membership to this forum, so I cannot list it here without paying the $30 fee for a gold membership.

The posts I made with the e-mails sent back and forth were not edited aside form removing the arrows making it hard to read, all words are intact, I can forwards thje e-mails to anyone who wants to verify this.

I don't even know what gb&u is and I am very insulted at the mention that I misrepresented our communications to make a "one sided assualt"

BULLSHIT on the 7" inch marks " this knife is too nice too use, I thought it was a user"

"I was looking for more of a user BM and this one is so nice I don't even want to use it. If not, that's cool, I'll just try to sell it for what I paid back on the knife forums orsomething. Thanks, Dan"

Also notice the ommission of dates on key responses, this is a joke

Oh,You mean the same fee that I paid

I am telling you that if you continue this misrepresentation that I will not deal with you in any way, shape, form or fashion

:barf:

So now you're calling me a liar directly to my face.

The marks were on the blade as soon as I unrapped it. They are not bad, but they are there.

Are you saying there were no marks of any sort at all on the blade when you shipped it?

Droc217,

I don't know either one of you and I've never done a deal with either of you either. Three things come to mind when I read your posts.

1) If you buy a knife from someone and then try and sell it you have accepted ownership. Period. You cannot sell something that is not yours, unless you are requested to on the other parties behalf. (It makes you sound like you are trying to make a buck and now that it didn't happen you want to back out on the deal. Life isn't like that.)

2) Maybe now is a good time for you to upgrade your membership to gold as that scfishr is willing to bail you out of the deal if you put it up for sale.

3) If you paid $375 for a user knife and ended up with safe queen, what's the problem? You ended up with a knife in better condition than you expected.

I really don't see at all from your post what your so worked up about. If the knife wasn't for you, you shouldn't have bought it in the first place. Your logic doesn't make much sense to me.

I tried to sell it after he ignored my request to return (edited from sell) it for more than a week. I thought he wasn't going to reply to my request, which was fine, I can live with that.

I would have sold the knife for much less than I bought it for. I am not interested in "making a buck" and I would not stake my reputation or honor trying to do so.

It's about honoring your word and being honest, neither of which it seems like he is interested in.

Furthermore, insulting me by calling me an oopma loopma and saying what I say is bullshit hardly seems like honorable things either.

"I would have sold the knife for much less than I bought it for. I am not interested in "making a buck" and I would not stake my reputation or honor trying to do so."

Last I saw the knife had a bid of $335 with a day left

I have been dinged for calling Bulls@#t before,If there is another word for this, please someone help me out

And to the clingon that dinged my rep points

stick your head up your a$$ and jump

I'm putting this whole bloody quote up so you can't edit it. You seem to have missed all three points that I raised.

#1-scfishr offered to reverse the deal. Check out line 7 where you say its cool if the deal isn't reversed. Then check out your line 8.-ie offer to reverse the deal anyway.

#2-You paid $375 for a user and got a safe queen. You complain? :barf:

#3-By your own posting scfishr wasn't ignoring you.

At what point is there a problem with scfishr's honor? I am sitting here scratching my head trying to figure out what the issue is.
