Bad deal with thefly01

What I should've done is offered insurance or paid for it in addition to delivery confirmation. I have been selling and trading knives for many years without incident. I was under the impression that twindog still wanted the knife. When the box arrived crushed and clearly retaped inside was a form. This form stated that they had the contents had been recovered and were sitting at some central hub. All I needed to do was fill out the form and mail it in and they would return the knife. I contacted twindog and let him know that this had been sent in and I would let him know when the knife arrived. I was under the impression he still wanted the knife and I was doing everything in my power to make that happen. I am refunding Twindogs payment. When the knife arrives it will be placed back up for sale.

Has thefly been notified about this thread? It would be interesting to get his explanation of why he thinks he doesn't owe anything to Twindog.

thefly01, you should start a thread in Service and Support after Twindog has received his refund, asking that the iTrader negative feedback be removed.
 
Thefly01 has issued a refund. I sincerely appreciate that. I believe I put all the relevant facts in my post, including that he had filed a lost-and-found report. But the initial problem was that he felt the knife was stolen and that that theft was my problem alone. I hope the post office does find the knife and gets it back to thefly01. That would complete the circle.

But my real complaint was that I got the negative feedback.

Thefly01 says he'll change his rating of me.

As soon as I finish this acknowledgement that thefly01 did just refund my money, I'll go off and change my rating of him to positive.

Thank you for the comments, whichever way they went. This thread is what resolved the problem.
