Bad @Scott Dog double dealing scumbag

I think the text messages threw him off. You ask first about the NICA Sebenza, then ask about the carbon fiber 25, and your next message says “I’ll pass on those 2. Any others?” (It took me a couple times reading this to see that you were taking about passing on the CF25 and Ti Inkosi, not the NICA)

At this point the discussion goes into the Green Beret and Wilson Combat knife so the shopping continues and I’m guessing he took the other hard offer/claim for the single NICA knife. It sucks and it’s a crappy situation but I can see the miscommunication within the text discussion and it’s not the first time something like this has happened in the sales forum.
You’re making a lot of assumptions, instead reading the last message he sent acknowledging the $1000. He knew good and well we agreed to terms on the $600 knife and $400 knife. Love all
These poking of hole theories when he’s the one that stated the price and I agreed, and we were waiting to see if he had box and papers for the last knife.

We had a deal, just no money traded hands yet. It doesn’t change the facts we had a deal that both parties agreed to. Good try though buddy.

We are just pointing out where some problems could occur. He may have canceled the deal for some other reason and we won't know until he responds. I likely would have canceled it over the photo even if I didn't have a buyer. ?'s and request for photos should be done before any I'll take it, and I get easily irked when they are not.

This deal isn’t about you. He clearly acknowledged the 2 knives and the price and I agreed. Bottom line. If he wanted to get paid at anytime for any of the knives I would have paid, but we were still working through all the knives.

I read everything and I do see that. Total point being, you’re “shopping” throughout the messages and at some point the seller must have decided to pass to someone else. Unfortunately for some, this is well within the rules of the forum.

It sounds like you side with him, which is fine, but as lawyer this is cut and dry. Not that this forum is a court of law, but figured people were smarter I guess.

He never said he was passing so to me, I think
We have a deal in principal. Had to told me I would have paid.

I’ve had a few transactions in the past with Scott Dog. I was warned that he is a little scatterbrained. Looks like things haven’t changed.
This was back when left handed CRK’s weren’t that popular and not many were made. I was supposed to get a large and small of the same model, wound up getting two larges. There were a couple of knives I never got.
Smokeygerk Smokeygerk , I really don’t think he’s a double dealing scumbag because of the dealings I’ve had with him. He truly may be that scatterbrained and the people that referred me to him said he was a good person, but not so great to buy from. Hell, it took him a few days to find the boxes and get them in the mail after I paid. Talk about being nervou, I was on edge until the knives showed up.

Yep I agree, he could have asked if you wanted to pay since he had other interested parties, but also in the rules, it’s not a deal until money has changed hands, until then it’s still just an “offer to buy”.

What I’ve come to conclude is with all these messages from members with a lot of good feed back, is that it’s an acceptable practice to accept and offer, and ghost the person, accept an offer from someone else within telling the intoal person, or just waiting awhile until I get a higher offer from someone else through direct messages. All this is acceptable behavior on the forum. Good to know.

Kinda tired of people giving him the benefit of the doubt and making excuses for him or using conspiracy theories. Guess I just know how deals can be done now on this page. fishing expeditions are perfectly acceptable.

Hardly. We’re explaining the many ways this particular sale has gone sideways. Really though, the OP of the sales thread is the one that knows, maybe he’ll chime in.

Just a possibility you don't want to accept.
But with ajack60's post and what I saw in the sales thread, he does seem a bit confused.
And I am willing to consider that possibility as well

Based on all the theories thrown around anything is possible. Maybe aliens took him over?

Only the seller can say exactly what his motives were. Our statements are based on what you presented us. The result is you are not the owner of the knive,so something went wrong. As objective viewers we are not clouded by the loss. Hopefully you might learn something that will help you avoid this problem in the future. I have no favorites in this. I know the seller from his posts long ago, but that is it.
He may or may not have screwed you, but everything was not perfect on your side. With a little adjustment it could have been, and you would either have your knife(or knives) or we would be possitive it was the sellers fault.

Geeesh! All this drama over a freaking knife.

Reading through this thread, the OP would make a perfect fit in that all time Classic movie with these other double dog screaming kids on the playground. LMFAO!

The seller the said item(s) were Smokeygerk Smokeygerk 's via "Ok so both for $1000", on which he answered yes.

Well not exactly, Smokey first responds asking about the Sebenza 25 and the box and paperwork, then confirms the $1k price for the NICA and the GB, then he asks if there’s any other to sell. There’s a lot of messages and shopping going on for a sale thread that was originally just for a single knife and it looks like the famous “American Pickers” technique of setting things aside and trying to bundle items together didn’t pan out.

I can see “constructive criticism” is something you have a hard time accepting.
