BAD - Spydiezz - Buyer Beware!! - BAD

Ya I thought I had it... But it was actually the knifeworks exclusive military's box. Go ahead and say what you want about me..because the only person who has any bearing on this conversion is bravodelta and I. Bravo if you have a problem why don't you respond to my messages..? You didn't send me the caly 3 box.. And I didn't send you the correct one. Let's move on it's not a big deal...

Interesting, so now I am at fault because I did not sent you your incorrect box back? I am clear in that?

Yes you're both at fault. You should have sent back the incorrect box right away(not wait 1.5 months while you still have his box). Then when you didn't receive the correct one back within a reasonable time frame, you would've had every right to start this thread.

IMO,You BOTH should have mailed them out right away.

I asked him if he wanted HIS box back, I received no reply, shocker!! I accept absolutely no fault in this situation.

Seller should have offered to refund the purchase price, plus shipping, because he did not give the buyer what he bargained for: a "new in box" knife.

Seller has earned bad feedback. The bad feedback given Buyer should be deleted - if thats possible.

How to resolve? Refund the purchase price plus shipping (with a money order).

I don't see it that way. When Seller rips off the buyer, which is what happened here, Seller loses his right to ask for the Caly box back - especially after saying that a box is only worth 10 cents.

If I were the buyer, 1) I would not have purchased from someone with so little feedback, 2) would not have used the gift option, and 3) would try to get Paypal to reverse the charge. Seller would then get his knife back, if he wanted to pay for the shipping.

It all boils down to Seller not give Buyer what Buyer bargained for. Everything else is a distraction. JMO.

Powernoodle,
When i was a kid I was really pissed at my mom for throwing away the box for my easy bake oven.

Is this the same that happened to you? The resentment I mean?

Why does it matter that it was the box missing instead of the knife or the triviality of the missing item? If you pay for a knife new in box, and if either knife or box does not come, you didn't get what you paid for.

Powernoodle are you serious? You have absolutly no idea what your talking about. I guess this thread just turned into who can make the biggest ass of themselves.

Spydie,

It is not for you to decide what is important to me or not, a deal is a deal (but not to you evidently). You obviously have no leg to stand on in this discussion, so keep on droning about me not sending you your box back (which I did offer but you did not accept because we all know that boxes aren't important to you).

This will drag out until you remove the negative feedback that you posted to my account. The ball is in your court...

EXACTLY!

Now I just have to try and forgive her.

The seller deserves the bad feedback - He advertised and sold a NIB Military, and did not provide a NIB Military. I would have the same gripe as the buyer. NIB means New in correct box. Pretty easy concept to grasp for most.

i think what we have here is a communication breakdown and major differences between both seller and buyer on what is important and what isn't.

so correct me where i go wrong.....

1.)mistake made by the seller on box. i'm giving leeway here, but i see no other reason to assume it was done maliciously.
2.)seller doesn't care about boxes and hence his take on it is big deal.
3.)a buyer who wanted the box, and feels it's a bad sale without it.
4.)communication failure
5.)now it's turned or is turning personal..which won't help fix anything at all....
6.) box is lost or whatever, so that can't be fixed
7.)the standoff of two alphas waiting to see which will back down first

leaves you with a few options to make everyone as content as they can be....

1.) undo the trade...send knife back, refund money
2.) negotiate on what box is worth....worst option as i don't think you two are gonna find any middle ground.
3.)keep thread open and entertaining people like me with it,:) while not really getting anywhere and frustrating yourselves more.

shouldn't the easy fix be knife returned and refund?

undo the trade.....seems no one is gonna be content any other way.

@ spydiezz - Knock off the Insults. Next one will earn an infraction. That goes for all.

@colubrid -If you have nothing to add to the conversation at hand, don't post

@ bravodelta - You need to post a thread in Service & Support to ask that your feedback be removed it will then be reviewed and any necessary action taken.

@ All - The Itrader system is to be used in an adult manner. Leaving a negative for spite is an infractionable offense

I could see if it was a box for a high priced custom or something like that. Then I could see getting a little fussy over it.

But a Spyderco box with the wrong sticker on it!?!

If boxes didn't matter to collectors you wouldn't see the phrase "New In Box" (so well known it's usually abbreviated) in ads. NIB is not just another way of saying "new," it means New In Box. That box is important to collectors. Those of us who only like knives for cutting things might not feel that way, but if you aren't including the box don't advertise "New In Box."

Whether it makes a big difference in market value is not what collectors care about, though investors do. All kinds of people are buying knives on this forum, users, collectors, and investors. You can think some of the other people are nuts and still sell to them successfully if you can understand their insanity....

I have no dog in this fight but just wanted to say that when I do make a purchase on the exchange the addition of the original box, paperwork, etc
does impact my decision to buy or pass on said knife. Especially for higher end knives like CRK and Hinderer. But in this certain case I would have
been satisfied with the caly box if the knifes condition came as described.

Maybe some good soul out there has a ti Military that they use, don't care about the box and could send it out to the OP?
Merry Christmas.

If the knife gets sent to Spyderco for sharpening, you can ask for a replacement box. If it doesnt need sharpening, which it shouldnt, ask for a replacement box. They're pretty good about things like this. They sent me a replacement box for a new w/o box Millie that I bought not too long ago. Zero Tolerance has also done this for me when I bought a display 0551. I got a deal b/c it didnt have the original box. Just my $.02.

I was a Ti Military. Definitely a knife many people view more as a collector than a user.
