Bad -- True North Knives -- Very Rude Service

I do not know any of you personally. I have to agree with TNK. Asking a anything to be flawless, is impossible. The customer is not always right but most are unreasonable. At least those who complain. Inspecting is no problem but promising something you can not is.

I really only added my two cents because I wasted my time to read the post.

Both of you, Ritt and Mrbladedude, were disrupting the thread Bad -- True North Knives -- Very Rude Service with your personal attacks, so I moved all that to Whine & Cheese in a thread titled Quiet ...

One thing I do like about people starting ridiculous threads in this section is that it really does give you fair warning on who you should and should not deal with. I for one am adding Artfully Martial to my do not deal with list after the obnoxious, unfounded and belittling (or attempt at) posts on here.

@Artfully Marial, i too have had a terrible encounter with Neil from True North Knives on Ebay, wow...he reported me for using one of his pictures and basically harassed me via email. I do not doubt that he has done this to others and his business tactic are very novice and very aggressive. I have been a member on ebay for almost 9 years with a perfect feedback score, PERFECT...so, you tell me who is right...yes, i used a picture on his site, but it is a picture, and i have bought from him...come on neil, loosen up dude...

You are wrong, plain and simple on this one.

Pirating photos is off limits. You've been selling for nine years and you KNOW BETTER, but didn't ask first.

Neil stopped this in it's tracks.

If you steal a pack of gum from a store only once, does that make it OK?

Coop

bigtime Thanks for speaking up:

he reported me for using one of his pictures

i used a picture on his site

I don’t deal with people like you. Thanks for volunteering for my ignore list. Anyone with a modicum of common sense wouldn’t post anything like that and think it comes across well or in their favor.

perfect feedback score, PERFECT...so, you tell me who is right

Neil is and you’re wrong. Anything else?

Mitch

You stole my images- a Bladeforum member alerted me- several other customers did as well.

I asked you to remove my copyright photos which had my logo on them and you eventually did comply while at the same time calling me a prick and that I should get a life.

As I said to you several times this evening, that it is in the hands of eBay now and they can verify exactly what was said by each party. The written word of what transpired is what will count when eBay gets to look into this . Not your pointless drama and imagination.

Now, bsck to the Amazing Race!

+1

I smell a stinky character.

Since when can you copyright pictures of a knife you din't even make Neil????? come one, you guys do not know the law, that is why you are selling knives for a living....ha

By the way, it is a Knife guys, how many pictures can you take of a Chris reeve sebenza and call it yours?? it is a knife..omg, i can't even believe this. it is a picture of a knife..i used it, yes, i did, i do not deny this, but really....really, neil, come on. All this drama over a picture of a $350 knife of Chris Reeve. What is the world coming too...

You better speak to an IP lawyer. If Neil took the photos then they are his IP.

And you've got to be kidding if you don't think Coop knows a thing or two about this. Do your research. You're making yourself look like a real ass.

And so you know, the question here is not the value of the knife nor how many ways a photo can be taken. What's in question here is your character. You came in here and assailed Neil's character...a man who has a good reputation over MANY years in the knife industry, and then you have the audacity to justify your actions by challenging Neil further? I hope they toss your ass over the side of the ship; Eff the plank.

You drug up a thread that hadn't seen a post for 10 months, to take a shot at someone for calling you on something you did that was wrong (which you admit to). "All this drama" seems to be coming from you.

Not sure about the law, but if you would like to use a photo taken from someone for purpose of personal interest, in this case a sale, I think you should at least ask.

talking about the old thread, I was asked that my goods be flawless, I would not do business with that person. Not because theres flaws in the item but its warning sign that the deal may not be so smooth.

if i pay for a gold membership can i call people lil b@tches too? just wondering be worth it.
I don't think anyone's belittling your legal opinions, I think they're just belittling your behavior in general. And I disagree that there's any vitriol here. I'm very calming saying I think you're acting like a little bitch.

I don't think you're lying. But I am confused as to the switch from your original post, in which you require that the knife be "flawless", to your several later claims that you simply ask that "the knife be looked at before shipping." That seems a world of difference, especially for someone so well versed and experienced in law.

As I previously stated, I have no ties to TNK, never had any dealings with him, certainly wouldn't call him a friend. I'm not claiming you're a jerk, just saying in this particular case you're acting like a bitch. Doesn't really matter to me how many posts you have or how many years you've been here.

I'm not ranting, I'm stating my opinion. That's what these forums are for, right? I'm assuming you put your experience out there with the expectation of feedback from the membership. You didn't hear what you wanted to, so now you're walking away?

Hmm, you have no idea what you are talking about, that much is obvious. Seriously, look into the term copyright infringement, and compare that to what you did. There really is no difference. It doesn't matter if Mickey Mouse made that knife, the picture of the knife itself in it's layout, and composition is intellectual property. By definition you need need to have written consent from the owner to use it. Take your own pictures, it really isn't that hard.

No, I was clearly in violation of the rules when I did that.
I do encourage you to support Bladeforums, though. It's a great place to talk knives, maybe make a trade or two.

Id be leery of letting someone use images with my business' watermark/logo for a private sale too. What happens if the buyer isnt happy and decides that you have something to do with tnk because you used their company name in your sale? Then the business owner has to deal with an irate customer that isnt even from their sale.
